  1. Yeah on reflection I could get behind this. The owners have got form for hanging the manager out to dry because of their 'Framework'. They did it with Kenny and they did it a couple of times with Jurgen as well. Par for the course in big corporate machines, senior people s***housing their way out of responsibility. If you want to set it up as DoF and 'Head Coach', have the balls to face things head on.
  2. I've never heard Neil (formerly of this parish) volley the club like that before, and he's 100% on the money. Hughes and a few others will be squirming this morning and rightly so. I'm with Zoob as well, I don't want the DoF doing media stuff either. Andy Heaton posted something on Christmas eve about getting rid of the all the people that knew what they were doing for one man's vanity project. It wasn't clear who he was referring to, but it felt like Edwards. It's a f***ing s*** show.
  3. Yeah. My point is there's a big list of caveats to that you can point to which goes quite a long way to revealing why we look so limp. Piling that all on the manager doesn't sit right with me yet. I think it should be clear by the end of the season, but only if Hughes and Edwards do their jobs.
  4. It's hard to judge with all the injuries and the team changing every week and new players still settling in. Yes they should already be settled in but there's been no consistent line ups this season, I'm not sure there's even a consistent system yet. He can't really deliver that with the squad and the injuries. We absolutely need another centre half this window at a minimum. We really need an investigation into why the director of football has left us without one since the summer, I don't think that's on Slot at all. Like others, the lack of fitness and the sluggish play is a concern. That's on the manager. He's done well to settle the death spiral we were in a few weeks back but there needs to be a feeling of genuine improvement in our play. I'm not sure we get that without an alternative to Konate, another wide player with pace and another midfielder though. If the club are going to make a big thing of having a head coach, they need to deliver him a balanced squad. Can't help feel he's been f***ed over this season, before we even talk about the impact of Jota.
  5. He's a great character. He's going to be great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4Kh2OGUTxA
  6. Brighton is going to be a good test for us to see if he's got the lads back on track. In some ways I wonder if the Mo thing has blown the pressure stack they've all felt since the summer for obvious reasons. It'll be sad if Mo goes out like this in a huff though, not the way I wanted it to end. Fingers crossed they sort something out.
  7. Me and my brother were talking about this the other day. Add in VAR and the PGMOL, the sensationalism of Sky, it's all a bit f***ing grim. Winning helps though.
  8. We’re a mad club. Mad things happen. Probably not this though. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him start in Milan if he makes some kind of apology though.
  9. They might have had a big lovely chat with the captain and cleared the air. Then we go unbeaten til the end of the season and win the lot. it’s the hope that kills you…
  10. Definitely yes.
  11. He’s not the manager though is he Hass? I made that point in another post somewhere.
  12. Slot has undoubtedly made mistakes but there’s something else going on here I’m sure of it. Maybe it’s the assistant manger going. Maybe it’s Van Bronkhorst. Maybe it’s the set piece coach that seems to be massively struggling. Maybe it’s Hughes and Co. telling him Mo is getting sold in January and to start planning for life without him. it might be all of the above. But I don’t think he goes from the manager who tweaked Jurgen’s system and took the piss out of everyone to win the league into what we are seeing now without some outside interference.
  13. Unless it’s him and his statto berks that are at the root of all this of course. Which I wouldn’t rule out.
  14. Yeah of course but why put it like that? Sounds like it’s aimed elsewhere as well.
  15. Keep coming back to him saying ‘someone at the club’ after talking about the manager. I think he’s talking about someone other than Slot but who knows.
  16. Like he's not being allowed to do his job the way he wants to do it. I felt very uneasy about the 'Head Coach' stuff when he joined. It might work in Europe and it might work in some clubs, but I'm not convinced it works for Liverpool, unless the suits have the same level of peril as the man picking the team. And I don't think they do.
  17. Got someone upstairs meddling written all over this. ‘We need to sell Mo in January to fund a rebuild, throw him under the bus.’ i dont think Slot put a foot wrong last year and suddenly he’s tied up in knots every time he speaks.
  18. I’ve only seen the last 20 mins but I’d say Villa have looked the more threatening. Arsenal look uneasy when run at.
  19. It’s like they’ve been told to conserve energy. Lumbering around. It’s awful on the eye.
  20. Well we weren’t s*** which is a start. we don’t look drilled in the final third, it’s loads of lads that seem to have no idea what the rest are going to do and so they’re just guessing all the time. West Ham looks pretty s***, we just need to score first.
  21. Bet Mo is absolutely seething. Might be what he needs to get him going again.
  22. I thought they were tight last year due to the Dutch thing. Maybe something has gone on. He always seems pretty sound Virgil to me.
