That can be true and him having done more for them that I have done or ever will do at the same time. If people want to judge him that’s up to them. And while I agree this tarnishes his future, I don’t think it cancels out all of what has gone before. There’s a whiff of white man’s burden about the moral high horse that people fail to or don’t want to see. That’s the part I find too simplistic.

Maybe naive yeah. I try and give people the benefit of the doubt and his track record deserves it. I honestly don’t know what’s going through his head and maybe he’s not thought it through properly yet either. Re the last sentence, the Premier League just waved the Saudi’s into Newcastle. The UK government is one of if not the the biggest suppliers of arms to them. The UK media is full of hatred towards migrants, minorities, LGBTQ+. While most of us on here find all the above morally wrong, as a nation we’re in no position to be claiming moral superiority. We’re a f***ing horror show. i think my point is I find jumping on him and ‘the Saudis’ a bit uncomfortable. It’s a bit more complicated than 250 characters on Twitter.

It’s not that binary though is it? His legs are going, he’s only got a few years left and he’s had an offer. He’s probably been told he won’t play as much. Honestly don’t think he’s that bothered about the money. He’s never been that kind of lad and I doubt he has suddenly become that way. Am no fan of the Saudi regime but trying to exert some kind of moral superiority is a dangerous game.

I’m not sure I’m having this narrative. He could potentially have as big an impact there as he has here, maybe even bigger. Usually agree with Neil A on most things but think he’s wrong on this. Who was it said you have to make peace with your enemies, not your friends.

There's some interesting stats in here on Curtis that were way better than I expected. Worth a watch.

I don’t disagree, but that blert being anywhere near a top level football match is nuts. Shows just how bad it is in this country. -

It’s also on Riley, Webb and the FA for week after week allowing so called ‘professional’ referees, physically and technically unfit to make mistake after mistake and then double down and act with impunity. The level of refereeing in the UK has been a disgrace for decades and they’ve done absolutely nothing about it. In fact it’s getting worse. Also see the ‘fit and proper owner’ test. Financial fair play. The state of policing at finals. The people running football are a disaster. -

No idea Has. Just that Taylor is a massive, useless, bizzie Man c***. Which is something I can get behind. Mourinho's an awful prick as well, that's not in doubt! -

He’s right about Taylor though. He’s a f***ing disgrace. -
We should definitely be checking the Kone-tract with Gladbach. (Bonus points for a s*** pun and a Partridge reference)

I thought I was being a bit tight with 2 as well. But you’re probably right!

If there’s one thing FSG have been consistent with, it’s letting everyone down in a transfer window. If I could be arsed to look back properly I reckon they’ve had one or two good ones in the 10+ years since they’ve been here. If they’re to tight to compete it’s going to have a negative effect on everything, not just the mood on here. Don’t think I’ve felt this down on it all since Rafa’s last season. The end of last season was the start and the Bournemouth and Utd results aside, this season was pretty s***. They got very very lucky with Jurgen but even he won’t be able to work miracles forever.

Yeah not that level, just more of a vibe at the minute. After Kenny and Rushie, I thought Terry Mac was brilliant. Scored some glorious goals.
-
Some of the older heads with better memories might have a different view, but the last couple of games have had me thinking about Terry Mac.

They’d have everyone on zero hours contracts if they could. The greedy b*****ds.

Has anyone found themselves contemplating a move for Bellingham if we get 4th? Extra 100m to play with, Madrid have probably already agreed a fee with Dortmund we could match. Less wages but he wants to play for Jurgen. I have to admit I haven't given it a minutes thought....

I don’t want Milner to go. Depends if he wants more than 20 minutes every now and then though. Been great for us, even if I spent his first season thinking his crossing was s***e.
-
We’d be out of our tree not to sign him.

I watched the first half last night, Utd really are s***e as well. -
Here’s the link. I just used the reader mode on my iphone, it got past the paywall. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/04/14/jamie-carragher-liverpool-jude-bellingham-fans-gerrard/

Carragher has absolutely volleyed the owners in his column today.
-
The conversation will have been 'Shall we spend 150m on Bellingham + wages, or shall we share it out and spend it on yachts further down the line?' Same as every other window. Like running in concrete shoes with these pricks.

These Tchouameni links are a bit made aren’t they?
