You mean over not needing a midfielder? If so, yeah I can see that. I didn’t feel like he treated us like idiots but he did give Neil a bit of a pasting in that interview, which I was really surprised about. But I can also see him having in the front of his mind when asked the question ‘The owners are tight as f*** and any public inkling of us needing something immediately ramps the price up’.

I like Neil a lot (and our very own Jarg Armani) but I'm still not there with thinking any of this is Jurgen's fault. If FSG weren't such bean counting minge bags he wouldn't have been put in this position over and over. The defence 3 seasons ago, the midfield last. He's loyal to players but he's ruthless as well. There's an element of Stockholm Syndrome to this, because he's always on a shoe string. What CL team appoints a director of football for 3 months? f***ing stupid, unbelievable for a club of our size. They've talked down expectations since they walked in the door, because its all about how much they can pocket when they sell us. They've left us short every window, and not strengthening after Madrid was criminal. My suspicion is they're bored of us now, they know they've made a fortune and are waiting for the right offer.

Hope those are just knocks but that was generally encouraging. Dom and Diaz were great.

We look disjointed but capable of causing problems for teams. On balance pretty positive. Feel sorry for Gakpo, that is not his position and he’s be better where Jota is.

We’re always up for sale with them, they’re a private equity fund. Was it Ornstein said there was a pitch deck being circulated by Goldman Sachs as recently as last season? That’s always been my main issue with them as owners. It’s all about the best time to cash out with them. That’s at least partly why they leave us short every single window.

Not really. Anything they skimp on now is more money when they sell.

They know exactly what they’re doing, which is what’s best for their pocket rather than the team or the club. Had occurred to me that they’re doing some sly asset stripping before they sell, make it the next owner’s problem. Which is fine if we get someone loaded. Terrible if we get another shower of tight fisted greedy capitalists.
