Nuts that isn't it? 90-01 seemed to take an age (my 20's) but 13-23 has been over in the blink of an eye (40's). f***, I'm old. I do remember when they were really s*** in the 80's but even then they had the likes of Robson and Whiteside who were good players. This is probably the worst Utd squad I can remember. What a time to be alive!

They’re our Souness era levels of lost now but without the likes of McManaman to give you a bit of hope. Long way back from there even with the right manager, in fact there needs to be some humility at board level for the right manager to thrive and they haven’t got that. Long may it continue.

The point is, it serves little useful purpose. it’s also emboldening these pricks and as such removes some of little accountability referees have in the first place. They back up each other’s incompetence. So what’s the point? At least without it, the responsibility falls solely on the referee.

Just waking up here in Asia and I’m still furious. Even without that penalty, the referee was a f***ing disgrace. I’d love to see the stats on every 50/50 because I don’t think he gave us a single one. Completely f***ing biased. VAR needs binning off completely or at the very least be a completely separate team. It’s ruining football.

This is true as well. Mo looked really leggy I thought, not himself at all. I don’t like Trent in centre mid at all, at least I didn’t today. His main weapon is a cross field ball and playing there he can’t deliver it. Tsmikas didn’t have a bad game but he’s so one footed he’s completely predictable. Nunez doesn’t look right through the middle. Diaz didn’t seem to be able to find space and became very predictable. it was disappointing all round. I thought Endo had a decent game. Dunno what has happened to Szboslai, he’s dropped off a cliff the last few games.

I found Virgil a bit frustrating to be honest. Held it too long, passed it sideways a lot. He can be a lot better.

Seems to be two views on Mac Allister from yesterday. The match thread thought he was really struggling but I’ve seen a few other people say he was great. Anyone seen any stats? I thought he looked like he had in a lot of other games, like he was doing his best but playing out of position. I also thought Jones was fine yesterday, rusty but ok. But Twitter was the usual cauldron of hate. This team has nowhere near clicked yet and I don’t think the 12.30 and the international break helped at all. But when it does we’ll be a force to be reckoned with. And buy us a number 6, you cheap b*****ds.
