Allen has been excellent and our best player up until the last few weeks, he has played every game pretty much and more than anyone else and in a role he wasnt bought for - I'd say he has done pretty damn well, a few dodgy passes in the last few games aside. When Lucas is back is the time we'll see the player he was bought for, I think he will be excellent with a bit more freedom. I do think we need a back up DM to Lucas to avoid this in the future though, I actually thought Henderson might have been given a chance to prove himself there.

Lucas is the key too everything in our centre mid, without him we are going to struggle, we could really do with cloning him in case one gets injured. When Lucas is back we are going to have a bit of a dilemma as to who plays directly alongside him, I'm sure all three of Gerrard, Allen and Sahin would prefer to play there - the there is the decision of who takes up the attacking CM role and I'm not convinced either Allen or Sahin is suited to that at all, Gerrard three years ago would have been ideal, but now? Not sure on that either. I dont think we have a player who can play there and get us 15 goals a season, Dempsey could have, Shelvey may do in a few years and Suso looks great great but without the goal threat. Some difficult choices for Rodgers coming up.

Just seen Suso's highlights from the Anzi game, WOW. I'd deffo put Gerrard wide right forward, Sahin alongisde Allen and Suso behind Suarez.

I'd agree with both those comments and I think Assaidi should be starting in his place.
