  1. the knock down by the strikers for stevie seems to be the common trend in our big goals over the last two seasons

    Alves

. It seems logical but there would be no room for Gonzalez or Kewell if Rafa plays with two out and out strikers. If 3-5-2 is his preferred formation, I'm sure it would include these guys (or one of them).
  3. i can actually see that happening to be honest
  4. there was a lot of negative coverage "will gerrard abandon liverpool" type sentiments
  5. i guess that's it... Gerrard was criticized for wanting to leave the club he supported as a boy and where he grew up for money-grabbing Chelsea, while Henry would be making a step up... but if that's true then why is the media so pro-Chelsea???
  6. True but i'd go as far as saying Stevie was almost crucified while the possibility of Henry leaving after this season didn't garner near as much negative publicity.
  7. I was reading about Henry's press conference today and realized how different the media treated the possibility of him leaving vs. how the Gerrard-to-Chelsea stories were handled in the last two years. Both are captains of their respective teams, are key to their team's success and have been very successful. However, while Stevie was hounded for two years regarding his future, Henry has had a walk-in-the-park. So this raises the question, why? Why did Henry have such an easier time to make his decision? Was it the fact Chelsea were the team involved for Stevie? What has Stevie (or Liverpool) done that caused this resentment by media outlets? When these questions came up, I found them very interesting. Ideas? Discuss.
  8. sell him! who needs goals away from home anyways! we should be aiming for draws
  9. hey hey hey there's no I in TEAM offer that drink to Alves and get him over here

    Defoe

Kewell will be great next season he's finally fit and came around this year... Rafa don't do this!
  11. that's f*cken great!
  12. what exactly do i have to back up?
  13. cause his keeper is a bonehead... have some humbleness
  14. he's fine! he's just smirking instead of full out smiling... you guys need a hobby other than monitoring Djib's facial expressions
  15. Wenger ignoring Henry's constant badgering to replace Hleb with Reyes and then eventually making the substitution when Arsenal went down really p*ssed him off. He wanted to keep Barca's fullbacks deep by bringing Reyes on and, what do you know, Balletti the right full back scored the winner. I'm certain he's off.
  16. his attitude is exactly the attitude he wants to convey to his players... to keep being successful you can't get too high or too low you always have to keep a clear and calm mind to move forward... if he was jumping for joy i'm sure our boys would let up more than if he was calm and said enjoy this boys, but after let's gear up for the next challenge... its exactly whats given us this never-say-die attitude the past two seasons... can't let the emotions get the better of you
  17. cement himself on the world stage for England and write himself further in history with performances in the World Cup... he has come leaps and bounds this season in maturity, leadership and play (which was already hard for him to eclipse) and will prove many wrong as to who the best player in England is after the composure he showed on Saturday I reckon he'll give Ronaldinho a run for his money as the best player in the world! i just can't wait to see him play this summer
  18. anybody have the goals/highlights???
  19. Elisha mentioned in January that Chelsea would be getting the striker they've needed this summer who can't hit penalties lol i guess he was right
  20. Let's not be blind and say that SWP is just an option on the right and Stevie will play there half of the games next season... if we spend that much on SWP, let's be realistic because he's there to play 90% of the games... that means we'd probably be playing a 5 man midfield with Stevie playing behind the striker so i think we may only need one other striker for next year. So for me its two strikers, Pennant and Alves OR one striker, SWP and a cheap right back option (or call up Barragan)... forget Alves if we get SWP... Finnan won't require that much cover and as a backup to SWP, Gerrard will play enough on the right
  21. i haven't been following... does this mean games have been rigged in serie A?
  22. your comment that i was replying to said that he isn't of the quality of an EPL winning side... if we had won 2 games against Chelsea this year, we would have won the league... so for those two games, we can do better?
  23. Ginu

    Cisse

what I want to avoid is the situation where we sell Cisse like we did Baros before we had a replacement signed and sealed
  24. P.S. his feet don't stick out of bed
