That's not true... after the Fulham game the team was pretty much reina, finnan, carra, hyppia, riise, gerrard, momo, alonso, kewell, crouch, and the only position that was rotated was morientes/cisse. Warnock and Traore had a few outings at left back, and Riise played a few games in midfield, and occassionally Didi got a game.

We do not have adequate cover for Finnan if Kronkamp leaves.

Chelsea reminded me a bit of Houllier's side, with Owen and Heskey up front. Owen at the time was a world class striker who liked to play off the shoulder of the last defender using his blistering pace and his finishing to score an amazing amount of goals while Heskey ran his socks off and did a huge amount of off the ball running to drag defenders out of position. Owen was great at receiving long passes from Gerrard and finishing off the opp, a tactic Chelsea used more than once yesterday, with Lampard looking to play in Shevchenko at every opportunity.

Anyone else share the feeling that Rafa wants Alves to play behind Gerrard on the right hand side for more than 50% of the games? Thus providing more width and pace in attack.

we've already added four players to the squad... so maybe we are hoping to qualify for the cl before spending any more (not wanting to make the same mistake as Everton like )

Lots of pace and technical ability attacking wise on the left hand side, not to mind mentioning four decent set piece takers. Riise's defencive work really improved last year. Does anyone know if Gonzales and Aurelio are any good at helping out the defence?

Ostrich man, if you watched the game on Saturday you would've noticed that Liverpool had double the amount of shots on and off target, dominated possession and ended up with far fewer cards. We were in control and could've won by many more. Hyppia scored a perfectly good goal, and was also pushed by Weir while in a scoring position (definite penalty). Everton were offside prior to winning the corner for the goal. All in a all, Everton were taken apart by 10 men, but if you think they deserved it then so be it.
