Gary Mac only in recent times. I actually got to the stage with Owen where I expected him to miss towards the end of his time with us - same with Fowler at one stage.

I'm personally not arsed if a player pulls up his shirt to reveal a giant bell-end with the words 'you lot' inscribed under it, if he's done something to merit a spectacular celebration. Taking a penalty when you've been utterly, utterly crap all season doesn't merit that kind of carry on, not even close. Cisse should be embarrassed at the return he's given this club for the vast amounts of money we've paid him and his former club. He's up there with the worst buys in the history of football with the likes of Lentini. I'd be embarrassed - I certainly wouldn't be going on like I'd scored a hat-trick in the Cup Final or something. I can't stand him; in the first half someone played the ball down the line to him. He tried to run at Babayaro, and pushed it straight out of play like the muppet he is. On having done that, he turned round and started moaning at whoever had played the ball to him and pulling faces - like it was anything to do with them! What really f*cks me off is he doesn't seem to try any harder, or even be aware of how schit he's been. He's still going on like he's brilliant with all his gallic shrugging, ambling about, gesturing and face-pulling - it makes me furious. FFS lad you're the biggest waste of money in this club's history - at least have some f*cking humility about you...

Sky Sports - One of the best headlines I've ever seen...

With Finnan & Kromkamp on one side and Riise & Aurelio (it seems he's pretty nailed on) on the other side, I don't think that, although I believe he's played there before, Rafa will be looking to use him there so much. Think it'd be a bit of a waste of his attacking flair as well, although I think he could actually play there very effectively...

I'm sure he will be eased in, but even Rafa himself said he felt Gonzales would be able to influence the first team immediately on his arrival. I beleive that as with many of the players he signs, Rafa will use Gonzales in different positions depending on who the opposition is. I see him as more of a left-winger, however he has the quality to be able to play on the right, come inside and do some damage shooting with his left as well. Plus his pace could be useful just off the striker if we're playing counter-attacking football. It's not a case of Kewell or Gonzales; Kewell has transformed himself into a crucial part of Rafa's first team with his performances this season, so it may be a case of him being rested more often next season as much as anything. I know I'd like to see a team with both players in, as their pace and flair along with Gerrard as well could be something to behold...

The difference between different commentators
Leo No.8 replied to NWR's topic in General Football Discussion
Pearce is a complete moron - should have stayed on Channel 5 where he belonged. As for Green; well he's a Liverpool supporter, I was sat two seats from him at Liverpool v Monaco last season and there's not a shadow of a doubt there. I think at times he's conscious of that fact, and in trying to be impartial actually over-compensates in favour of United in his commentary, which is why many Liverpool supporters have believed him a closet United fan over the years. I like Green regardless of who he supports though... -
See some people are missing the point here. I'm sure I speak for everyone else who has criticised him when I say I don't give a flying f**k whether it upset the beer-bellied morons in the Newcastle crowd - no it wasn't *that* bad what he did I agree. The point for me is he's got no right to go giving it the big 'I am' when he'd been f*kin woeful right the way through the game. If he concentrated as hard on passing to his team-mates, getting his body in so he can't be pushed off the ball, shooting straight and putting a bit of work in as he did on writing out messages on f*ckin t-shirts he might have contributed more since he arrived. Any gobsch1te can stick a penalty away - doesn't give them the right to start parading round like a t***. If Henry behaved like Cisse plenty on here would be calling him arrogant; well at least his football gives him the right to be arrogant if he decides to be so...

The kid looks superb - pace and quality in abundance. A couple of top-class strikers along with this lad, and maybe another of his ilk but more right sided, will give Rafa some serious 'possibilities' next season...

Like I've said before it makes my eyes hurt to watch him play; he's the 'anti-Fowler'; everything people love Robbie for - his footballing brain, quality on the ball and skill, are what Cisse lacks to an embarrassing level. He's a 'waste of pace' as well as a waste of space. If he couldn't run as fast as he can, he'd be playing French Sunday league football. Totally agree - worst buy in the history of the club. Makes Diouf look inspired; at least he had ability...

Reina 7 Kromkamp 7.5 Warnock 7.5 Carragher 7 Hyypia 7 Agger 8 Hamann 7 Gerrard 8 Kewell 7 Cisse 5 Crouch 8 Excellent team performance - apart from the obvious stand-outs of Crouch, Gerrard and Agger, I thought both wing-backs did exceptionally well both going forward and in defence, particularly as they were both playing in that position for the first time this season.

What did my head in about it was he was complete crap from start to finish, and taking a pen didn't merit all that carry on. If he'd beaten their entire team and lashed one in the top corner from 30 yards, fair enough react like that, but when the rest of the side had done all the work and all he'd done was stick a f'kin penalty in, it was completely ridiculous. He seems a sound bloke off the pitch, but on it he's a complete tool, and a dreadful footballer. I'm sure Rafa is as sick of him as most of the rest of us though, and he'll be out the door come this summer. PS Nice touch with the t-shirt, I know it was somethiing about his family; I presume it said something like 'Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to Jude and the kids...'

Brilliant yesterday - he's looked to have the talent in his first few games, but has made a few errors, which is of course natural after moving to such a different pace of game in England. Yesterday though, he was absolutely immaculate. Solid defensively and looked very composed and classy on the ball. Definitely in my top 3 for man of the match with Crouch and Gerrard...

Like I said mate I don't think you've got anything to worry about, his ship has sailed and I'd except to see him bouncing around a few clubs in Europe before retiring youngish, not much past 30. With me, its not so much bring him back, because there are numerous players I'd prefer and I'm sure Rafa prefers - it's more a case of 'what if' from his first time here...

Bramble plays like a zombie, blundering around with no kind of pattern to his movements and actions. It's like watching 'Night of The Living Dead' meets 'Goal'...

Anny I know he has his personal issues, but you go the games mate, how could you deny what you saw before your eyes when Anelka was here. He absolutely took the p1ss - no he didn't score that many goals but he took teams apart with his pace and skill. He didn't score against Newcastle at Anfield, for example, but everything we did went through him - as Sammy said it was one of the finest individual performances I've seen live. Our record with him in the side was excellent - he was actually a 'team player' and contributed a huge amount to the run of wins we went on at the end of the season to finish second under Gerard. I understand some concern over the baggage, but he is a phenomenal talent and I can't understand how anyone watching him in a Liverpool shirt during the time he was here could say any different...
