This transfer window has put into sharp focus that the loan system is now patently unfair and needs to be changed completely. I read somewhere that Chelsea now have 34 players out on loan which is absolutely ridiculous. And of course they arent alone, we do it where possible too, as do many big clubs. What needs to be done to fix this? Heres some options to consider: 1. Some of you gents have advocated the possibility of a cap on the number of players you can have on loan at one time. This would be a good start. How many loans should be acceptable? 2. No loans to clubs in the same division. It used to be like this wasnt it? Why was it changed? This gets rid of people like Victor Moses spending what will almost inevitably be 6 seasons on loan at various clubs in the prem. Dont think he would have signed a new 4 year deal if it meant playing championship footy for that time. 3. Players signed by a club cannot go on loan for 3 seasons. This would kill the stockpiling completely i'd say but is it realistically doable? Thoughts?

Heres a good example when the Texas Rangers sacked the bench coach and first base coach after a disappointing season. Basically its not the manager's decision who stays or goes and he must work with whatever the GM gives him. Of course the manager has a say but the GM makes the final call. It comes after a review similar to what BR had and is seen as a way forward, not to deliberately destabilise the manager. This is all being done like its baseball isnt it. If things arent going well you sack the pitching coach, the hitting coach, the bullpen coach etc before you sack the manager. Seems like they are applying the same strategy with this.
