  1. Nah, they should build joint stadium with Orient! They're both going to lose fans to West Ham when they move to the Olympic stadium. It must make tremendous financial sense! While we're at it, Fulham and Chelsea are a bit close to each other. A shared ground would be perfect. In fact, if two clubs sharing is good, three must be great. They should invite QPR in on the deal.

Since I reckon the 1st and 4th seem (to me - gut feel) to be the most important, I'd have the best (IMO) takers on those. The rest would be people I'd trust to handle the pressure and have done it before, preferably with a mix of right and left footers. Adam Suarez Downing/Bellamy Kuyt Gerrard

There should be a competition in training every month, or possibly every week. Anyone who wants to be considered for peno duty has to take three pens against each of our keepers, in front of the rest of the squad. Winner, second etc. is the order on match day, until the next competition. Loser has a forfeit of some sort.
  4. If we're going down this line, why not buy the Ark Royal and put a pitch on the flight deck. Fair enough we'd have to be creative with slide-out stands or somthing, but it'd be a huge advantage for tours of the far-east etc. If UEFA pitch size rules get in the way, we might have to wait for a second-hand US carrier. It would, though have the advantage of its own (nuclear) leccy supply for the flood (NPI) lights, and the odd deterent for mis-behaving manc fans.

  8. I reckon it's related, but not looking for an argument.
  9. Don't want to encourage Ant or anything, but one thing that Kenny seems to be able to do is get the young lads to believe in themselves. I can imagine that he doesn't have to work too hard at it, 'cos if Kenny said to anyone that they were there on merit, and he believed in them, they would feel 6' taller and play with less fear; and we know that even the likes of Gerrard play better with confidence. I was watching a thing on LFCTV the other day with Davie Thompson, and he was saying how much better he played (prior to injury) for Strachan and Hughes rather than Houllier, who didn't rate him as highly (and thought he was a bit of a thug). You've still got to have the basic ability and properly focussed training though, and everyone (bar Ant) seems to agree that the latter is a whole load better since the Rafa changes. (Shame really, Heighway was one of my favourite players).
  10. It was Macca who reckon's he's just poor - I can't stand the tw*t.
  11. I reckon Dowd is really up himself, and is a bit crap on occasions, but I can handle that. Webb, Atkinson and Mason seem to genuinely have it in for us - and love themselves while they're doing it. Perhaps Mason hasn't done us (!) enough yet, to allow us to reach a consensus.
  12. Dowd's OK - Mason is the third in that particular cabal imo
  13. Would be/have been a lot, lot, lot worse if he was able to gloat about us playing crap football and losing etc. If we're playing better football than ManU and are ahead of them in the league though (which with Kenny, for the first time in a long while looks possible rather than unrealistic), it might be quite fun listening to him squirm and reluctantly offer praise. Has the worst voice/face combo for a pundit ever though. Anaphylaxis inducing!

    Kenny

What if the Villa Boas' thing had been sorted out months ago - before Hodgson went? Kenny was keen to say he'd have no problem moving aside at his first press conference. Maybe he was in on it? Comolli, when he was describing the qualities necessary of a full time manager, was thrown when someone asked if Kenny would be on the list. Maybe FSG have/had sorted everything out quietly in the background, but Hodgson getting us relagated was going to scupper everything. Don't actually believe this mind, probably because I want Kenny to be given the job properly.
  15. MD vs CEO MD stands for Managing Director, and CEO stands for Chief Executive Officer. Some people do not differentiate between CEO and MD, and think of the two as the same. Well, there are specific differences between a CEO and a MD. When talking of the differences, a Managing Director is responsible for the day-to-day business of a company. On the other hand, a Chief Executive Officer has no responsibility for the day-to-day affairs of a firm. The MD will be a member of the Board of Directors, and is also head of the management of the company. On the contrary, a CEO is only an employee of the organization; he is not on the board of the directors. Another difference that can be noticed between a Chief Executive Officer and a Managing Director, is their responsibilities. The CEO has the responsibility to facilitate business, and should also have a strategic vision to align the company, both internally and externally. A CEO has to guide the employees and the executive officers. A Managing Director is the leader of an organisation. He is the real motivational force for others, and he is a person who develops a corporate culture for an organisation. The MD is responsible for the day-to-day business of on organisation. Well, an MD is responsible for the overall management of an organisation. He is a person who has to bring in innovations and expansions. Managing Directors are always held responsible for any action of the company. Moreover, the MD is accountable to the share holders. On the other hand, the Chief Executive Officer does not have to shoulder these responsibilities. nicked from... http://www.differencebetween.net/business/difference-between-md-and-ceo/

    Summer

When clicking through from the topic title, can't help hoping for pics of Summer Glau, but I suppose talking football will have to do.
  20. He watched them for at least another 90 mins when they played very well against us at Anfield. ..and I'd kind of hoped he'd done some preparation for that game beforehand. T*t! ... it's not like it was an unexpected question. He could have had an oscar/bafta award winning response prepared!
  21. Looks like they're enjoying training anyway!
  22. Torres looked genuinely shocked and appeared to be upset rather than angry. Maybe expecting stuff from the fans, but not from his 'mates'.
