I'd go for that, but after the last couple of days, and particularly this morning, I'd rather have ressies keeper on the bench, or do a SUFC Colin job and put Carra between the posts in an emergency.

He has been in the past. If he needs regular first team games to be able to put in an acceptable performance, he's no good as a back-up keeper, which is what we need. Playing as a team means making up for others mistakes. Admittedly he's had more than the usual number of mistakes to make up for, last night particularly, but penalty aside, he hasn't really done that has he? FMac

Have the half-time score 'win' the CC game, and the full time score win the FAC game. Golden goal for the CC if it's a draw at half time. Could still then theoretically have different qualifiers for the two competitions.

There's a time and a place for most things, and showing effort, closing down, chasing errant passes etc. is excellent. I think he comes short too often, and always seems to run far post when he should be breaking his balls to get in front of his defender, but that's not the point I was making. If we're going into the last few minutes when we're going to lump it into the box a bit more and hope for the best, I wouldn't have thought taking Crouch off was the way to go. I'd lose a centre half, or defensive midfielder. Particularly last night.

Sitting down on the pitch as though injured, just because your boot has come off/fallen to bits, then expecting us to wait for him to get a new boot! How many times have we seen players play on after losing a boot, and putting it back on when the ball goes out of play or up the other end - not that the latter was ever going to happen. Disgusting. I've thought this a few times. Kuyt hares around knackering himself (don't get me wrong - I appreciate it), yet when we bring someone on to launch balls into the box, Crouch is always the one that is taken off. I've been thinking that Rafa is showing confidence in the new striker like he did last year with Crouch, and that paid off, but I reckon Crouch will be getting the 'why's it always me?' thoughts, and we're losing points.

Looks to me like a baddie from Buffy. Has anyone seen him out in daylight?
-
Pretty sure he did. It was an interview after the England-Holland game which I caught a bit of. I hoped I'd missed a bit/misheard and it was actually 'Mr. Benitez', but I'm fairly sure it wasn't. I was disappointed. Having said that, it was a one off, and I'm sure it was a mistake. He was probably about to say Gaffa, but being on England duty realised that would be ambiguous, and just got a bit tongue tied. That's what I'm assuming anyway. btw - I hope he plays a blinder wherever.

So, no one has any sensible idea's why... the useless, razzle-reading , too old to be a prospect, not good enough to be a MU first teamer Foster is described as Man Utd, when the next Clem, Grob, Pepe, Yashin, "Thunderbird-1" Scott Carson is described as Charlton then?
-
Thought it would be taken as that sort of whinge from the MU WUMs. It was actually a genuine question. I don't really give a Monkey's, we know he's our player etc. etc. I was wondering if there was some difference in the status of the loans etc. I'm pretty sure we can't recall Carson; but then Foster's been there for a couple of years hasn't he.
-
Why is Ben Foster described as "Ben Foster (Man Utd)" in the full squad, when Carson is described as "Scott Carson (Charlton)" for the U21's? Surely it should be Watford & Charlton, or MU & Liverpool? Another question should also surely be why is Foster in the full squad and Carson in the U21's? Sorry - just noticed the existing thread.

Surely you jest? How anyone can look further than the great George Burley I don't know. Keeping the Tractor boys in the Premier with no money! Even now he educates everyone, young and old, on the benefits of proper hydration (and good footie boots). The next football knight.

One of the three guests for the CL coverage, along with Souness and Gullit. Mainly because he lives in Copenhagen and MU were playing them. Pretty sure the studio was in London though. Said he'd been in Barcalona before that so wasn't aware of the temperature in Copenhagen. Most interesting thing he mentioned was that his two sons are now playing (one for FC Copenhagen) and were 'quite good'. Given that Michael and Brian were pretty decent, and their Dad was also an international, might be worth a look.

He said last night on Sly Sports, that there was an agreement for 3 years. Liverpool then wanted to increase it to 4. He and advisors refused "An agreement is an agreement", and went to Juve.
-
By the looks of it, the joke's at Crouchies expense! ...although Garcia obviously finds it funny.
-
or do they already know who it is, and that's actually the agreed punishment.
-
That would 'confirm' the story. By saying "clearly going in the right direction", obvious to everyone etc. it undermines the core message and leaves the possibility that it was just all made up by the hack.

I'm not so sure about sacking him. If that happens, the press will have their source and there will be a whole run of press stories and insider exclusives, none of which will be positive, and they'll have their very own bitter mouthpiece for whatever nonsence they want to run this week, be it rotation, Gerrard, zonal marking, foreigners etc. Keep your friends close, and keep your enemies closer. If a takeover doesn't force the issue, 'persuade' him to resign at the end of the season for personal reasons. If not Moores could just vote him off the board. I reckon a clear statement like Parry has issued, then nothing is the way to go. Having said all that, I would mind feeding his testicles to a rabid dog. FMac

They'd be rhomboid rather than rectangular?

Just hit the back button/backspace (on IE), then you don't have to hunt for where they've hidden the <Enter the site you actually wanted> button.

I'm going to hazard a guess at gravity. FMac

Sorry, for some reason I got it into my head they'd won it twice like Forest. Anyway, still big but not BIG iykwim. FMac

As many times as ManU have ! - It wasn't meant to be a particularly negative against them, but if you had silly amounts of money, you'd (I'd) look at the really famous sides first (Us / ManU) and/or the bigger London clubs. Without wanting to get into 'big' definitions again (we're obviously the biggest anyway), I'd have thought Villa wouldn't be a target for that sort of person/money. Then again, that other (division 2) oil barron went halfies on Portsmouth, so who knows.

Got 506 yesterday, but since I was at work I didn't leave a name. Honest!

Obviously a different club with fewer means etc., but Jewell played Mellor for the entire game after 18 months out. I expected him to come off early second half, but he was forced to carry on, knackered or not. Up he popped in extra time, vulpine, to get the winner. Too knackered to celebrate though. I hope Rafa does something similar with Robbie soon.
