  1. How shrewd a move was it by Rodgers to bring a proven top sports psychiatrist on board this year. He's obviously contributed greatly so far, but the mindset now is becoming at least as important as the players abilities. If we go into the last game for example needing to win, the pressure and the raw excitement in the build up and on the day are going to really test us. His expertise could be crucial
  2. It's just for fun and of course I don't think we could get that many players of that calibre in one window More of an exercise on my part to distract myself from the mania that's taking over my brain with this roller ccoast4erwe're on. My anxiety is thru the roof
  3. They JFW like us .... The parallel I was referring to was that there's a 3 way race for the title there too and they're on top against all odds with a brilliant young manager, who's tearing up the script. Chelsea'll know they were in a game after the first leg against them
  4. What a trio of games Chelsea have ... CL semi, virtual League Final, CL semi final ... and it's us and our Spanish parallel which is ironic That could be a nightmare 7 days for them ... or, God forbid, a Mourinho w***fest Let's make it a nightmare
  5. Had sunderland held on for the win we were as good as champions ... 2 draws once one was against Chelsea and 2 wins would've been enough to win on goal difference ... f*** it though that's a great result for us! It's gonna happen!
  6. If they lose ... cant we afford 2 draws then .. one being against Chelsea and win on goal difference?
  7. f*** me ... if they lose they're gone ... surely ...they'd be 4 behind us even if they win their other game in hand
  8. Sorry ... yeah ... you know what I mean ... winqualise
  9. They'll equalise ... But if they don't am I right in saying 3 wins and a draw against Chelsea and we're champions? They'll equalise
  10. Pick 1 player for each sector of the pitch who'd really add quality to the team for next year ... I'll give it a bash Full Back ... Shaw Centre half ... Hummels Midfield ... Reus Wing ... Konoplyanka Forward ... Benzema
  11. Did he not go straight through a player to get his yellow card. That alone could've been red. He was pushing it with the constant protests thereafter. If he'd got a second yellow I wouldn't have been at all surprised. Unnecessary
  12. Just read a piece by John Giles in todays Irish Evening Herald. He thinks Suarez could cost us the title if he's not careful and needs Rodgers to have a serious word. Reckons he could easily have been sent off on Sunday and that wouldve cost us the game and the title when his subsequent ban was given. I tend to agree with him, although it wasn't something I'd considered at the time. He was very close to getting the line and it was petulance more than anything.
  13. Wasn't Linda ... think it was this woman with her hair black not blonde http://i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article2123663.ece/ALTERNATES/s1227b/Ian-Ayre-2123663.jpg I'm getting a Harley!
  14. Apologies, I was looking at a clip from last year's service online yesterday as I was trying to find Rodgers speech and thought Henrys was from yesterday's event. Same priest and choir behind him and I thought he was there. Tom Werner was there .... someone mentioned Henry went back to Boston for the Marathon commemoration which is fair enough. Sorry for the misinformation
  15. Yeah, him Linda and Tom Werner. Henry did a reading and a brief speech, did well.
  16. Really? Fair play to him. Hodgson show up? Anyone else of interest there apart from the obvious? Nice to see Henry and Werner there. Thought Henry seemed (understandably) taken aback by the emotion and depth of feeling when he spoke. Don't think American sport fans can easily relate to how deep football impacts lives in Europe
  17. Was Rafa there today? Saw an image of him in the crowd on facebook and he was crying but I think it was from last years service?
  18. I don't think he punched it ... Sakho came up under his arm and raised it so his fist hit the ball ... he wasn't looking at it so it clearly wasn't intentional ... if he can punch like that with his eyes closed he should be wearing Mignolets shirt
  19. It was George Hamilton commentating that day, and you're right ... that information must have been relayed to the commentary position. Hamilton isn't prone to speculation, he's very professional ... can't imagine he'd say that without being told. Watched the whole thing live that day on RTE
  20. I have two young boys ... 3 year old twins. I think when you become a parent it hits you a lot harder. I can hardly cope with even thinking about losing a child in those circumstances. The families who've campaigned are so incredibly heroic. I think people like Anne Williams, Trevor Hicks and Margaret Aspinall will have their stories told to the next generation of schoolchildren in the way that civil rights campaigners like Martin Luther King have. It won't happen in this country, but when my boys are old enough when they ask what dignity and courage mean, I'll know where to point them.
  21. Is it that there's a sense that two separate but intertwined long and painful journeys may be coming to an end? I thought Martinez was brilliant, found it really really touching, because it was obviously heartfelt. Brendan, likewise ... he gets us. Hope today wasn't too tough on you mate.
