I can not believe we are considering letting a player of Sterlings quality out on loan. When you consider the hype about Le Gems a few years back, it'd be crazy if we didn't appreciate a real star in the making when we have one. An attitude adjustment might be required but loaning him out would be crazy

Barnes was just a sublimely talented player. Suarez is very good ... But he's no John Barnes. And I've yet to see a more complete all round footballer in the English game than Gerrard.

A quick update to a post I submitted a few days ago. A representative from LFC met with a Spanish agent who represents Reina and David Villa in a London hotel on Thursday ... I was told by a relation of mine who works there that this was happening , and I got confirmation from her at lunchtime today that it did. The interesting part is that the LFC executive stayed overnight and had a meeting this morning in a private conference room with 'a very tall guy with a ridiculous Afro' I sent her on a picture of Fellaini and she said it was 100% him. Don't know what the story is with that but if there's anything to it I didn't see that one coming!

Does it make sense to try improve the squad rather than concentrate on top quality additions to the first eleven given that we've no European fixtures. We could gamble on having a very strong first eleven and three quality subs and have a real strong crack at getting in the top 4 F*ck the cups and consider it a 38 game season ...

I mentioned Benzema earlier as I cant think of a player who'd be of sufficient quality to fill the gaping hole Suarez's likely departure will leave, not to mention who'd actually join a club who aren't in Europe. He mightn't be the one, but who is?

Can anyone who's seen a lot of Mkhityran give a summary of what kinda player he's like? I read someone likening him to Craig Bellamy ... Is that accurate? Does he have the potential to be top class and be at the level Suarez and Van Persie reached this season?

My cousin is a manager in a hotel in London and he has had a room booked and paid for directly by LFC, and the club have someone being collected by the hotel to go meet him on Thursday morning. I'm in agreement with Heighway61 .... To jump into the top 4 is going to take a serious strengthening of the first choice 11 and three strong impact subs .... I think and hope we are planning for next season with the assumption that Suarez is gone ... and if he stays it's a bonus. If he stays it'll likely be only for another season anyway and we'll have a big transfer fee incoming FSG I would hope would give BR an advance on his projected fee and let us get quality additions that'll go straight into the team or be high impact off the bench. Top quality commanding centre half in the Sami mould ... Papa maybe A Suarez type busybody who makes things happen, causes problems and gets 15+ a season ... The Arnenian from Shaktar Tello from Barca would be a great addition if we could get him Mignolet if he's as good as some think makes sense to me Sterling seems to be getting written off a bit on here, I think if he matures a bit he could be a super player for us for a long time Interesting times, and maybe one of our most crucial transfer windows in a long long time As an aside, who'd have Torres back for £10m ?

How does it work that we're acquiring players before the window is open? Are we agreeing fees and terms with the agreements and payments taking place once the window opens?

I put this out there before re Suarez, but I'm a bit worried that if we sell him and get 40-50 million, I struggle to think of a world class direct replacement in that price range that's available and would come to us. The argument is that we could buy two 20 million players but didn't we spend 20ish each on Downing and Henderson? On a seperate topic, anyone reckon there's any chance of Alonso being on our radar?

I'll throw this out there ... If Suarez goes this summer and we get in the ballpark of 40m for him .... Pick one player as a direct replacement for him for that money that would realistically come to us .... I'm struggling ...
