  1. The simple fact that we've probably played more Euro away matches than anyone during the investigated period also distorts any figure they put forward. We've been involved in the qualifying round(s) on several occasions, for example. They've really worked hard to come up with this ludicrous claim. I bet 15 of those 'incidents' are people complaining about the noise our fans have made!
  2. That's correct. Dalla Valle was invited to Athens by us but I read somewhere that he refused the invitation, because 'playing football is more important than watching others play it' or words to that effect. The correct reason could be the fact that he has a thigh injury and needs an operation... Anyway he hasn't signed any contract with us, so there's no telling if he'll ever join us.

  4. Much Eto'o about nothing?
  5. Will Dein bring Henry with him?
  6. In a column of his Sami also expresses his anger about the 'news' that his move to Fulham had broken down due to wage demands. Says he's never even talked to them, or anyone else for that matter and money would not be an issue anyway. Rather cheekily, he states that when his current contract is up next year, he might sign another one...
  7. I heard he's off to Bayern...
  8. What I think is absolutely essential is that we get the new players in early and not in August at the very end of the transfer window. They simply must be here when we start pre-season training if we want to challenge for the title. If we are still trying do business at the transfer window closure it inteferes with Rafa's work and cannot be nothing but disruptive for the whole squad.
  9. The other day I saw a documentary on "the fifth Beatle", Pete Best. An awful program apparently produced by Best himself. Anyway, Bill Kenwright was interviewed and the interview took place in front of the Everton 'trophy cabinet', I believe, a very sad looking glass cupboard with small pots in it. I had to laugh. To compensate for this, I would think, Gerry Marsden had a Liverpool top on, but other than these, football or either team were not mentioned.
  10. I thought the same about Samuel, but I saw him the other day against Atletico Madrid and I thought he was fantastically unselfish with (at least) two assists. I was surprised to be honest, a very good performance and not ego'oistic at all. Agree about Bellamy though...
  11. Quite a few 'supporters' in that dictionary as well, no?
  12. I disagree, Barca were under pressure at times, it was not one-sided at all. It was the goalie's mistakes that decided it. With the goals coming thick and fast the Atletico defence was shell-shocked. At 3-0 Barca were able to take risks and they paid off, while Atletico's morale sunk.
  13. Apparently we haven't yet given up on this kid, he and his dad have apparently been invited as VIPs to Athens to watch the CL final.
  14. ... plus a couple from his own half!
  15. No. The game was quite even until the Atletico goalie started panicking. Then it was all over for them in 5 minutes.
  16. I made my assessment according to a special Sami scale... I thought it he sounded resigned in a 'there-is-nothing-I-can-do-about-it' kind of way.
  17. Yes, bring in another Molby, please!
  18. Just saw Sami being interviewed in the Finnish TV. Didn't sound too cheerful... Basically he said his career is in limbo as he is not playing as much as he'd like and because he is under contract he cannot talk to anyone without the club's permission and no club can approach him either. Also stated that it is mentally very difficult for him when he is not playing regularly...
  19. Single-handedly took Marseille to the CL with 6 goals in the last 6 Ligue 1 matches. Well, that's what the Brit journo's would write if someone scored that many goals in the final Premier matches.
  20. Ah, but don't you know that at Liverpool the striker's main job is to track back and work hard. Scoring goals is not that important if you huff and puff for 90 minutes. Mad Erik never scored but he's still in higher regard than a certain quick Frenchman.
  21. Or there are some ace defenders - the quality improved significantly when Boumsong left Auxerre...
  22. I think he could be either carnage or alverage. I'd bet on the latter though.
  23. Yes!
  24. DC pops up in the scoresheet once again... Must be a misspelling or a fluke...
  25. I had Stuttgart - Cottbus on another channel and wound up watching it because the Cup Final was sooo boring. Switched back when the Bundesliga match was over. And it was still just as boring. I was hoping to see the mancs lose in penalties...
