  1. what are you? 12? jesus f***ing christ.. Good game by Liverpool and they played the majority of the game without their best two players. Could be this year Liverpool is challenging for the title for real. Don't know how long Agger is out, but when you replace Carragher for Agger even the back 4 starts looking good. United certainly have some issues to deal with, slightly concerned about Quieroz leaving and the impact it will have. VDS makes mistakes - lets just hope he bounces back, he is getting old.

  4. Platinis comments are ridiculous and it is quite clear the man has spent most of his time on the football pitch than school. Debt is no big issue, most companies have different debts these days, it is a question if the debt burden is manageable or not => if it is not corporate law has procedures for that to protect the parties with stakes involved. It is not for some moron with 9 years in elementary school behind him to dictate how a company should be run i.e. using their own cash flow or external financing. As it is - Uniteds debt was generated by the take-over, i.e. the club is paying for them selfs and when it has managed to do so the Glaziers will reap the benefits. If United could use their profits them selfs instead of paying off this debt it would be even more successful and competitive.
  5. the commentator here said the player lying outside the pitch counts => not offside.
  6. what the hell are you on about - he was bought for 12 million and will be sold for what, 80 million? in addition to that he played a big part in United winning 2 league titles + 1 CL league = revenue. You do the maths - what is there to be pissed of about? It would be good business to sell the lad. There are players to replace him - as long as the defensive line with Vidic - Ferdinand + the defensive midfielders stays intact United will be ok. Just a question of developing the next Ronaldo...and Sir Alex is quite excellent at getting new talent to excel. In all seriousness, the premier league is the place to play football and you will see the top 4 english teams being highly successful in the CL in future as well - United is the top team in the top league - a transfer to Real Madrid is taking a step down. But from the clubs point of view - if the lad feels like leaving, take the money, big players have left before and United have remained successful.
  7. Difficult to see why he would pay 18 million because some sporting tribunal with no understanding of labor law orders him to - seems like a ridiculous verdict and FIFA really needs to sort themselfs out. If nothing else - he will stop playing football and tell FIFA to f*** off - what are they going to do?
  8. for 80m I don't think there is much of an issue - sell the lad. You get three excellent players for that. Might not be the best in the world - that is afterall Ronaldo, but f*** knows, he might get injured in August and never be the same player. Those are absolute fantasy transfer fees Madrid are talking about - don't know what United are stalling for, they should have sold him before the euro 2008 - now he might get injured and they get less. If he has decided to go, he will go in one or two years, might as well sell when his price is on the top.

  10. think you need to put that in relation to have many wins you have in the first place..
  11. are you talking about 42 m interest costs or debt repayment? amortization is a balance sheet item.
  12. Alright, this conversation is finished from my partof view as this is simply ridiculous.
  13. I'm sorry, but I actually have no idea what you are on about.
  14. ¨ FFS - you are ridiculous, please tell me you are a financial advisor or something. Take a look at the below paragraph: Manchester United have moved to the top of the UK's football financial league after reporting record turnover for 2006/07 of £245m ($481m), a 27% rise. That puts them ahead of the £200.8m reported by Arsenal for last season, but behind Real Madrid of Spain, whose turnover was £263m for the same period. Pre-tax profits rose 93% to £59.6m, as United won the Premier League. ___ The turnover is merely 245 millions and of that they haveve a pre-tax profit of nearly 60 million i.e. after financial items, that is f***ing amazing figures. It appears to be a highly profitable business and a money making machine. Been in audit quite a while and it certainely is rare to see a companies profit being 1/5 of its turnover. They clearly activate the transfers fees though.

  16. feck that..the points are correct most of the time, my tagline is what it is because I had to teach Softlad the basics of football back in the days and it didn't go down well, the lad simply didn't appreciate the lesson.
  17. Ridicoulous post. You created enough chances i.e hit the post and the bar etc and were unlucky when it comes to the attacking play. You lost because you defended like amateurs - where are the defenders in your list?
  18. What is there to know? he insulted his boss - there is usually only one way in any organization after that, it's out. From the owners perspective it is pretty clear cut as well. Rafa got enormous sums to invest during the summer and got the players he wanted - unfortunately the results has so far not been as good as was expected so now Rafa wants more money. If LFC has no success during the spring he will demand more money again and again. Eventually when he is sacked most of this will be missplaced anyways as the new manager will want to bring in his own players - so why not change the manager right away as it is the cheaper option and there are some real heavy weights on the market (Capello / Mourinho) that might not be available come summer.
  19. Seems a bit ridiculous. Rafa could have helped himself by keeping quiet and not talking to the press. He himself is to blame for whatever he has coming his way - if you are tough enough to insult the owners in public you are probably tough enough to take the consequences when the owner gets pissed off.
  20. Sven has nothing to do with this, on the contrary, looking at Englands results without Sven and his results at City shows that he is an excellent manager.
  21. Anderson is a fantastic professional and will no doubt have many succesful years at Manuchester United.
  22. Barcas weakest part is their defence and the main reason they will find it difficult to win anything this year and the main reason they won nothing last year. Interesting you choose to do benchmarking with them. Refering to your previous posts on this thread..I am afraid they make little sense, Carra is struggling and you blame Hyypia? Would it not be logical to blame Carragher if Carragher has a poor run in form?
  23. He was obviously trying to cheat, hardly the point here though. Had Celtic had professional stewards who did their job instead of taking part in the celebrations this would not have happened. Fans getting on the pitch can end badly and Celtic should be severly punished. Didn't UEFA already set the standards in the standards in the Sweden - Denmark game. The game was lost and next home game played at a different location.
  24. A good result for United - had some decisions going their way. Due to the situation in Chelsea I can not really see any team being able to challenge United for the title now.
  25. interesting - who are they going to replace him with? did Capello get a new job already?
