Hope it wasn't because Carra refused to play RB! - Having said that I don't see why Darby wasn't played there Why do we have to play Carra every game? He could clearly do with a rest and resting him would allow us to play Agger or Hyppia I'll get flamed for this, but playing Carra EVERY GAME is holding us back. Assuming N'gog is plan B along with Kuyt Plan C then - we'd need 2 Decent attackers to support Torres Don't know why but I would love one of them to be Van Persie ... that would leave one attacker to get

Gone are the days of taking someone almost there on loan. We also need to cut our losses and sell players like Babel, Degen, Dossena, Voronin, Leto. The sale of those plus the 15-20m recovered from the sale of Keane is a good starting point. Probably 35m Then hopefully we will have 30m to spend ( if the refinance comes through) That will leave Rafa with ~40m to spend ( ~20m for Barry deducted) - hopefully on 2 attacking players

pure pace matters most n the counter - speed of thought, speed of positioning and the ability to pass/control and dribble at speed is what's really needed. no point in needing to win, having all the possession and passing the ball around so slowly no one gets caught out of position. we need players that can pass the ball quickly move into new positions, continually putting the defense under pressure. I would argue we need ball carriers with a deft touch and clinical finishing more than pace. Yes pace would help but only in an open game. We will see less open games in the premiership going forward

the two are not incompatible - we just need better attackers who are dynamic/mobile, that can hold onto the ball, move it around at speed and are clinical. United have a few players very close to this, Arsenal have a few who use that as their natural game, and though they're not as good as the united players Arsenal always attack well. Can we sign Van Persie ?

The problem is even armed with say 30m, we cannot go out and buy two 15m wingers. Part of the problem is price, the rest is finding 2 wingers that would actually take us forward. Keane cost 20m and failed to do so, Babel cost 11m again the same and Reira is showing he's a good squad member at best. For a team like us the the problem is finding players we can afford who can take us forward. There just aren't that many out there.

When Rafa has attacking players he can trust he'll be more attacking. So far our most consistent players are in the defense and midfield. when the 4 attacking players are that consistent, we'll attack more

there's a difference between being better and being better in a liverpool team ! We need to look at Rafa players as well as players who are better - they need to be both here
