    Keane

If Babel becomes Torres's Back up - does that mean Dossena becomes a Backup LW ?

    Keane

how about the new romario ? Apparently Rafa was after him Keirrison de Souza Carneiro or K9 (LOL) to his friends New Romario

    Keane

which is where Agger comes in ...he helps the midfield play further upfield
  4. that can be read as " I can find better uses of 19m" than Robbie Keane
  5. I want to know the back story to that statement. is it because Barry's happy with Villa's progress and wants to stay? is it because Barry wants to remind Rafa of his deal i.e. if Villa don't make the CL he's available? is it just a rehashed story from last year ?
  6. BARRY BARRY BARRY BARRY or a young left footed Gerrard I know we have plessis but he's very defensive ATM
  7. actually Keane going opens opportunities the everyone - at least now we'll end the debate of where Babel is best used. We've seen him as a LA and soon we'll see him as a striker. It's his chance to play where he wants, let's see if he has the talent and mentality to take that chance, if he does we're quids in.

ROBBIE Keane has completed a £16m move from Liverpool to Tottenham Hotspur. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-f...00252-22837715/

    Keane

no one knows for sure BBC says 12, Mail says 15 (inc add ons) guardian says 16 (with add ons) telegraph says 12 we "know" 15m was turned down therefore I'm guessing its 15-16m+ add ons and cancellation of the add ons we were to pay above 18m so tranfer spurs to us 18m+ add ons = 20.3 transfer back 15-16m add ons ( add ons to spurs above 18m cancelled) net diff 2m less any add ons we can get updated:
  10. how are we losing 3m on him? - we could get back ALL our money
  11. Liverpool reach agreement with Spurs over Keane transfer • Deal worth just over £15m rising to £19m http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/fe...or-robbie-keane
  12. Liverpool Football Club have this afternoon confirmed they have reached agreement with Spurs for the transfer of Robbie Keane back to the White Hart Lane club. Having earlier granted the striker permission to talk to his former club, a spokesman for LFC told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Liverpool Football Club have reached agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the sale of Robbie Keane .tv
  13. just signed a new contract
  14. that's the point, it's more than just politics - its money for team development too - if Rafa values keane at 10m and we've spent 20m on him that's 10m that could have gone towards another player Rafa wanted. Also as for not playing him, if Rafa thought he would be sold in Jan why play him and run the risk of injury or having to pay a play bonus to tottenham
  15. there's clearly and intelligence/talent threshold
  16. let's hope so - let's also hope he can spend it as he chooses
  17. who hoo, hope we screw them on price .....
  18. if keane had scored 10 goals this season do you think he'd be in the stands ?
  19. darn it -- was hoping we were selling
  20. ME TOO - I really think with Barry here we'd have turned those draws into wins - free kicks, better attacking ball retention - balanced side capable of dynamically changing formation - still hope we get Barry ( less likely now with Villa doing so well).
  21. there, sorted
  22. I just cant see the reasoning for Keane - - with Barry we'd have played 433 or 4231 hell we'd even be able to play 442 without changing the personnel with keane - we've wasted 20m
  23. what formation would have used both Barry and Keane ?
  24. True but people see the Anelka of now and figure that's what we missed out on. I posted the story as it was a link to that apocryphal summer where Houllier got it wrong and I'm hoping the same is not happening again
  25. By Bill Mills 1/02/2009 Gerard Houllier admits he made a mistake showing Nicolas Anelka the door at Liverpool. Anelka, currently the Premier League's leading scorer, returns with Chelsea today to the ground he once dreamed of making his own. Now former Anfield boss Houllier has lifted the lid on why he snubbed a striker whose gifts he admired. The decision, which badly shook Anelka, was a response to alleged dirty tricks from his agent brothers Claude and Didier. Houllier said: "I think it was a mistake on my part because I should have should have carried on regardless. "I thought, right to the end, I was going to sign him, but then I didn't feel the thing was right. "I did not like the fact that, while he was at Liverpool with a purchase option to play for us, his brothers had tried to contact other clubs to sell him. I did not think that was fair play." Houllier owned up to his blunder in a DVD devoted to Anelka's career. It also features Steven Gerrard, who says: "Anelka is the type of player you want on your team rather than playing against you." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-21089358/ Damn those scheming brothers !!
