Iraola might be great but he'll have to be Klopp/Guardiola levels to succeed with the wreckage Dicky and Nerdy have left.

It all comes down to crap recruitment for the last 2 seasons, influenced by Hughes/Edwards arrogance of backing Slot, not buying him the players he wanted, then sacking him, hiring a completely different "coach" and both having one food out the door.

They're both demonstrably not s***e but equally they might only be good in very specific environments. There's so much wrong with the makeup of our midfield in particular that makes Wirtz's job much harder and we bought Isak without a clue how to serve him.

I'm concerned as well but if we're giving them a Slot pass for last season, are we not being unfair passing judgement 1 game in? If Wirtz lays on a hattrick for Isak on Weds, does that make them both good signings?

Frimpong was signed because Dicky likes a clever release clause. Probably didn't look at him and the system he played in more than "how many assists did he get?". He then signed Kerkez because he got "mad FF points last year". Then he realised he had some spare cash and decided to buy a FM Wonderkid and the best striker who isn't Norwegian. Didn't think how either would fit in.

I'm purely guessing here but their transfer record can't be close to what we'd want to recoup. Yeah I'm being harsh I guess, I gave everyone a slot pass and it's been 1 game. Hopefully he's instrumental in ripping Forest to shreds.
