That's it ain't it, we just don't know yet. Unfortunately for him, given the circumstances we signed him in and the circumstances the club now finds itself in, he was never likely to get much time to settle and was hoped/expected to hit the ground running (or sprinting!) Hope upon hope the lad comes good. The fixtures we have coming up would in theory (I know, know) seem to offer him the chance to show why Rafa took such a big risk with him.

Yep, I would be happy with that team being sent out.

We need to be very careful right now. Is our league position acceptable/desirable/reasonable etc? Of course it's bloody not. Is Rafa blameless? Of course he's bloody not (neither are the players and neither are the owners). I would say with a close to fully fit squad now again (thank God) we need to trust the manager and players to get it together and get themselves out of the mess THEY have gotten themselves into. According to some reactionary posters on here this statement is taken as an implicit statement that the manager is 'blameless', but if you're that simple I don't care what you have to say. We are in big trouble, but I just don't see how a change of manager will help us at all right now, I really don't. (Once again, this does not mean I think our current manager blameless). What will we get if Rafa is fired? In my opinion and in all likelihood: a lesser manager, disaffection among the squad, particularly the star men, and another massive financial problem.

Richard Dunne was their best signing.

I take your point, but you are also right when you say 'extreme'. This wasn't a calculated gamble, this game was thrown. It really was. Gutless stuff. And do ten wolves players really need a rest? I think this could backfire on him. Suppose the world we live in now, they win next weekend he's a great fella, they lose and he's an idiot. I think he's an idiot no matter what happens. As someone else has pointed out, he can't make any calls on other teams if it comes down to the wire for Wolves now.
-
True. If it helps at all I was joking about Pepe. I'd definitely rest the other ten though. Mick McCarthy is a football genius.
-
Kevin Doyle would have been dying to play in this one. Then, in fairness, any footballer worth his salt would be. I don't think the premier league need to do anything, just saying it's really a disgrace and Wolves fans, more than anyone, should be rightly pissed off. I'm a bit surprised at McCarthy.

Pepe has been busier than ever this year and he's our best player now - we need to be careful, I think we should rest him against Wigan. They won't get a shot on target anyway.
-
That's not true. Can't remember us putting out the reserves in the league because we felt we had absolutely no hope of winning the game. We have rested players when they needed it, or a big game was coming up in Europe etc But TEN f***ing changes because you feel you simply can't win. There's no way you can say 'near every other club' has done that in all fairness.

Agree with all of that. Ya, I've gone from half admiring their effort/approach to feeling much the same as you. Hope the karma police come back and get them for this at the season's end.
-
Ya, Malouda would be a great addition to our team at the moment I reckon. The Fabregas nomination had to be a joke to be fair.
-
I agree on Berbatov, obviously. But I think Malouda is also better than 'really really average'. I obviously think too much of a lot of s*** players.... suppose I could have worse afflictions at the moment
-
Pacheco looks very good, but even he's not up to the standard you can just fire in. Maybe a sub in the next few games I'd agree, on the bench at least. Players like Gerrard, Rooney, Fabregas etc only come along so often and are quite obviously ready in every way. We have no-one of that standard coming through it seems. More's the pity.
-
Exactly, Could ruin a good kid firing him in now IMHO. Worst possible environment.

Berbatov is also not a really really average player. I don't care what anyone says about his attitude etc And Macca I'd rather spring him from the bench than Voronin, El Zhar or Ngog to be perfectly honest with you. That by no means makes him any less of a waste of space than he currently is, just saying. We're quick to call players really really average 'cos we don't like them, there is a difference. Now Titus Bramble, for example, he is really really s***.
