  3. I thought they sort of tailed off after we scored but they should have buried that Keane chance and it was easily the best chance of the whole match. Mido had a good effort and keane had a good chance at the games death. I thought Spurs kept the ball really well on occassions and definately came to play football. Don't forget who they were away to when assessing their gameplan. They had supreme opponents. I thought their first half mirrored what we do first half away from home a lot of the time. Like I said i thought we edged it but i do think spurs were to be commended on the basis of that performance. Boro away absolutely mugged us with a draw. I don't think a draw in the last game would have been that unfair.
  4. Buffon's been injujred for an age hasn't he?
  5. Couldn't believe the stick sven took over this. The only one who should be pissed off is Owen but even then it's not like sven announced it to the world. he was talking to people who had lied to him and had deliberately set him up
  6. His skin tone is dangerously light. i'm not sure he's a pure breed
  7. I saw him once v Wolves and he missed a sitter (which he'd created through his own sheer pace). I have deemed him rubbish I remember watching Pennant at the same age. He was f*cking brilliant. Is walcott really
  8. hamann for sissoko and cisse for morientes. I think hamann's experience could be vital and he is less like to get sent off and cisse will be good on the break away from hom where mori can struggle What's our (Liverpool fans) pathological obsession with mentioning Lampard everytime Gerrard is mentioned. Gerrard is the better player, it's a non debate. By mentioning Lampard so often (a fine player in his own right) it more just sounds like we are trying to convince ourselves

  11. Togo are gonna win it
  12. I really rate ronaldo but f*ck me he's been woeful this year. Where's his head? That said i'm still glad he's out. he was outstanding v us last year. In fact they all were.
  13. No I mean I'd literally play the player on top of crouchs' shoulders. If I have to be serious though I'd settle for a goal poacher in the Owen trezeguet mould. He wouldn't have to play every game but he would play a lot. The main difference between them and Cisse would hopefully be that they'd be better than Cisse. I'm not comfortable with removing the option of raw pace (allied with ability of course) from our front line, I think we'd be needlessly handicapping ourselves. But apart from eto'o, Henry, ronaldo I'm not sure how many lightning quick lethal finishers there are out there unless the lad we bought from Auxerre remerges. A word on Cisse. i think he's actively tried very hard to improve his team play and would like to see how he turns out. I never said a goalscorer was a panacea by the way it's just an aspect of the team/squad which ican be improved like LB and RM.

  15. I think it was a fluke. The bloke's a genius but it doesn't mean absolutely everything he does is genius. I bet some will argue him giving the ball away on the odd occassion he does is deliberate. I'm not just saying it because he scored against england as I think Maradonna's second goal against us in 1986 is the greatest ever scored
  16. I'll ask again. Who are these people who "rave about Kewell" and are simultaneously "very critical of Garcia". It's straw men again. I think some people actively enjoyed disliking Kewell and don't want to let it go.
  17. You can't dismiss the goalscorers I listed because they are struggling to win their league when you cited Spurs and Liverpool players in examples of teams that don't have a goalscorer. You also can't dismiss the example i used from a team running away with the league on the basis of "they have other players in the team". Bringing in a goalscorer doesn't mean that you'd then drop the likes of Kewell, Gerrard, Garcia, Crouch, Morientes et al who can all score. If we brought in a goalscorer I wouldn't play him ahead behind or level with Crouch. I'd play him on Crouch's shoulders and form a super striker who was great in the air and a clinical finisher.
  18. That was a penalty and a sending off every day of the week. Riley is genuinely the worst ref in the league but he's never cost us a game v the mancs
  19. Adriano, gilardino, Trezeguet, RVN, Ronaldo, Crespo was in b4 drogba left anyway Goalscorers are so mid 90s eh
  20. SWP was rubbish anyway
  21. i'd put him in for sissoko in this game
  22. Usher said that rafa would buy defoe if he had the money but he fears he'll cost too much. I like defoe and am sure he'll come again but i think there are better players out there. It's a bizarre logic which argues that having a goal scorer would hinder us. It smacks of people trying to be too clever as with all the nonsense that there is no way we should play with two strikers
  23. We went from scoring lots of goals and winning in pre season with two strikers, to not scoring any and not winning with one striker then back to winning and scoring plenty with two strikers
  24. Being better at LB than Traore and warnock doesn't make you decent. It just gives you a shot at not being a schit LB He got mugged by jenas for doing just that But hasn't anyone noticed that he only plays LB at home and thapart from the spurs game, he only plays LB at home versus shyte
  25. so am I. He clearly isn't. We haven't got a proper LB at all. I don't trust any of them. I've got no idea who we should bring in though
