  1. nah, rafa's papa owned hotels.

    Garcia

luis has got such a great mentality. when do you see his head go down? despite all his frustrating moments, he's one of my faves, and i'm always very pleased for him when he scores.
  3. rafa says "we have a way of doing things" moores says "not the liverpool way of doing business" brilliant to see that our unique blend and quality of dignity, calmness and unity continues to be valued and has been restored. we are liverpool football club. there's no club like ours. terrific.
  4. that's what i meant (but didnt spell out) when i said "particularly as each deal will have various add-ons and agent payments, and there were a lot of deals" yfronts or boxers?
  5. doubt it - kewell i thought had another season after this one. i would have thought zenden signed for longer than 2 years
  6. spose so - in my mind i have gonzalez, paletta and aurelio as summer signings too - don't know if they all are accounted for that way. whilst their prices are cheaper, there must be agents payments. and agger in jan of course...
  7. 1. i think this was our biggest summer of spending for some time, particularly as each deal will have various add-ons and agent payments, and there were a lot of deals. 2. no report of kirkland fee anywhere. my gut instinct is we did not get more than 2m 3. are we going to get more than 5m for djibril? yes, there will be some sums, but rafa is an ambitious coach... maybe not for kewell, but we could do with another CM if we lose bolo
  8. with no apparent sign of a deal being offered, wonder whether scotty would be happy with a season as back up/cup keeper, after having a season playing at prem level... that money would go a long way in poland in retirement
  9. i kinda agree re sami - and he would be not easy to replace. my thinking is we spent so heavily last summer that if rafa wants to invest, there may be limited funds (dependent on champions league run this year and qualification). carson's having an impressive season, if someone cash-rich - say villa? - came in with say a £5m bid, would we be tempted to cash in, give jerzy a contract extension, and buy a cheap 3rd choice keeper and a momo mark II?
  10. assuming something freakish i see a core of players being simply not for sale, ot it being too early to say if they might be for sale: Pepe, Finnan, Agger, Carra, Riise, Warnock, Aurelio, Garcia, Pennant, gonzalez, sissoko, alonso, gerrard, crouch, bellamy, kuyt. The following are the possibles and my thoughts on what sort of bid we would accept - any views? Fowler - free - 50/50 poss kewell - £1.5m Le Tallec - [not heard anything about him] - we'd take £1m i think if offered Sinama - £1.5m Potter - £250k Zenden - ?not for sale under 2m? Carson - ?not for sale under 4m? Hyppia -?not for sale under 2m?
  11. once rafa chalks up his tinkering century, i suppose the meejah will stop mentioning it on a match by match basis. stupid c****
  12. if they have continued good form, they might have problems with fixture congestion/injuries/freshness. they wont be able to remember what it's like to be playing the big boys in europe and still having to turn it on on the weekend. hope they dont get hargreaves in jan.
  13. so is guthrie any closer to playing more often in first team after last night do you guys think?
  14. what about paletta reviving the old chrissy party traditions
  15. shouldnt be a problem for a kid - though maybe nerves/tension?
  16. cheers all
  17. don't know quite what to make of that kev!
  18. it seems smith struggled...
  19. i think his wages would be uncompetitive compared with other models for the marketing literature
  20. that's the wrong test. there's only a handful of players playing at their peak of form at any one time. arsenal have henry, fabregas, maybe toure and the keeper chavski - drogba, essien, makelele united - ronaldo, saha, giggs its not like a squad of 25 should be expected to be at their peak. it'd be good if we had a few, but we dont. that's what happens when the team is on a bad run. when united and arsenal were struggling last year, how many did nthey have playing at their peak?

  24. take off the only guy we had who was threatening to get behind united and cause them problems. some things looked very odd yesterday. pennant on the left just didnt work. similarly garcia on the right was all left foot, all cutting in. when we had a nice break and he had space outside, he ran into trouble by cutting in but the most worrying thing of cours e was this defeatist culture which seemed to prevail.
