  1. see another academy graduate is on the lower league drift Nicky Rizzo [MK Dons - Grimsby] Loan
  2. i think we all did but his stats betray the fact he'd become the quintessential luxury player by the time he joined us. if only we'd had him when uncle roy had his first nibble by contrast john wark's strike rate is pretty impressive.
  3. exactamundo. for any match (home/away, league/cup) against man yoo, chelsea, arsenal, bolton, everton, and on current form spurs, portsmouth and even barcodes, the Xabi Momo and Stevie G combination will be left intact if all fit and not needing urgent resting
  4. Reina Finnan Carra Agger Riise Pennant Gerrard Alonso Garcia Crouch Kuyt Subs Dudek (was he on the bench yesterday or was it Martin) Hyppia Bellamy Gonzalez Aurelio Agger is likely to come back as Arsenal pay a quick-paced game rather than concentrating on the aerial. Garcia should replace Gonzalez. Lovely work yesterday by Garcia for no 3 BTW Crouch v Bellamy is a tight one. As it's a home fixture, and I suspect Bellamy may only just be fit on time, I suspect Crouchie may just get the nod, with the intention of bringing bellamy on fresh for the last half-hour. Unless of course we have signed David Villa and sold Crouch and Reina by then.
  5. cheers. so not quite tri-bull football but dodgy like i thought!
  6. where does physioroom get its info from. is it just a statto who reads the papers and remembers dates
  7. i've not heard anything. does he say when they'll be back then?
  8. all very quiet re momo harry and bolo....
  9. bellers shabby stevie g
  10. rafa refused to sell warnock last time and will refuse again. aureola has proved he's no left back which leaves SW as no 2 LB, if you assume Agger's gonna be a 1st choice CB soon. it'd transfer a cover problem from right to left. plus what's all this warnock+cash s***. a 30 yr old aussie with 6 months on his contract = 24? yr old English player +? should be neill +cash
  11. bose seems to report his guesswork as exclusive facts like us reporting 'exclusively' rafa has decided on a versatile right wing, a goalscorer and young cm/cbs as his priorities, and has directed the board that the his wishlist is in the following order: right wing - alves, SWP, goalscorer - david villa, and scouring the globe for alternatives, whilst he likes the look of giles barnes and matthew upson as squad players who will fill holes in the spine of the team when there are injuries. intensive work is being conducted to see what deals can be achieved in january, and which ones will need to go through in the summer, but anfield sources are confident that there will not be financing problems, as they are very optimistic significant investment will be achieved very soon. i am mihir bose.
  12. raise you - cauet, dehu, micoud and tempt zz out of retirement. on 17:17, 17.1.07

  14. Darby played in the u18s match on sat according to the report on the o'fish. if memory served right, he skippered the side in the fa cup youth win from right back. i seem to recall that he was pacey, without convincing in terms of attacking skills. the man city left winger had some joy in the second leg.
  15. apparently we're the front runners for his signature - froma weekend rag
  16. strange that nabil el-zhar is not included after his debut and james smith has fallen behind darby?

  19. like potter and welsh being livid when we signed momo or mellor being livid when he heard we signed bellamy and kuyt and was given his cards... or maybe, as guthrie is 19, and an attacking midfield player, it's like peltier being livid when we signed kuyt... i'm a bit lost on this guthrie worship. to make it into a team of our calibre, a player basically needs to be outstanding at reserve level, and preferably, a grown man. is guthrie either? my impression is he's a lightweight who can pass the ball alright but does not have the pace, or skill, to be a winger or striker. so he's a lightweight central midfielder, playing for a club whose manager likes a physically strong central core (and pace out wide). or have i missed the track record of owen/fowler/gerrard like genius which has been strikingly evident for so long?
  20. it's not unknown for CD's to play in CM, if they're mobile and good on the ball. consider rio last year, desailly, lawro etc anyone who has seen guthrie play will know the one thing he's not is a defensive CM
  21. http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liv...-name_page.html
  22. did rafa do this purchasing youngsters thing at balencia? i guess sissoko must have been young when signed. Seems like he's adopting wenger's methods...
  23. talk of guthrie playing is wide of the mark for the simple reason that rafa will want the CM alongside gerrard prepared to be his minder. alonso and bolo may not have been the most defensively capable compared to top level midfielders at similar top clubs , but they are experienced and strong enough. guthrie by contrast is an inexperienced lightweight who is used to playing the attacking role. it'll be one of the defenders in my view. i think, home match against pompey, with wigan coming up, who has the best potential for what we want, it has to be D.agger. Reina Finnan Carra Sami JAR Pennant Gerrard Agger Garcia Crouch Kuyt Subs Dudek, Paletta, Fowler, Bellamy, Peltier
  24. bolo played alright against psv i thought. generally ok on the ball, got around, and fantastic work for crouch's goal. sort of thing stevie g does gary mac he aint but he may be able to hold the fort til xabi's back
  25. isnt that what ged said the liverpool staff were saying about steven gerrard before ged found/saved him
