And that will be their long term plan. I thought they where shocked by the wage bill when they arrived and had planned for a handful of stars on big money supported by younger up and coming players on relatively smaller contracts?? Sigurdsson would have been expected to fall into the latter category until Spurs apparently upped the ante. If this is true then it could be a case of how much BR wants him. If he pushes for him I would suggest it would be hard for FSG not to back him....... Hope this is true. It certainly would make more sense that most of the **** we spout on here .
So if Spurs promise him he will replace Modric (bit hard without having a manager in place) and BR cannot promise him he will start ahead of SG and LL etc then that COULD sway him there......... Its all smoke and mirrors
We HAVE to believe we can do it at this time of year, otherwise what hope do we have? Come November we can let reality sink in and make the best of whatever is happening to us, but for now I can see us winning the PL as we get the luck we missed out on last year............
Was going on the supposed difference. Funny really isn't it as we dicuss players contacts and complain (not saying you are) that the club won't may an extra £750,000 a year to a player. I wish i was on a 10th of that. What a stupid world we live in.
Agree. Would be gutted he didn't sign, but IF Spurs are now throwing around the cash then it is hard for us to compete. £15K a week is some £750,00 a years more, or £3 mill over a four year deal. Its a big chunk of change.
