So if we got him and no one else up top how do we shift the forward line around? Do we use Gakpo as a make shift Ekitike replacement? Rio on the right for Mo maybe? Barcola——Isak——-Rio Yes yes yes all day long.

His beef is regular playing time I believe. I can’t see a club better positioned than us to offer him that right now.

Oh 100% He’s going to cost an absolute fortune but he’s really young so could turn into a Mane or a Mo over time.

The Mancs have strengthened. They finished above us and have since got rid of a player who can’t run anymore and brought in Santos and Tielemans. They are also close to signing Ederson and have eyes on Kobe and Baleba. We can argue the merits of these players or if they are world beaters or not but they’d all be better options on a bench than no one at all. Fingers crossed we have signings lined up but I don’t see why we’d finish above the Mancs when they are actively making singnings from a position above us when we have lost legendary players like Robbo and Mo without replacing them and have injuries to key positions in RB and Forward and have just watched Gomez get injured when many see him being the experience to replace Ibu. I'm painting a negative picture just now and hopefully it gets rectified really really soon but the manager himself has flagged this as an issue.

Ibu Mo Robbo Bradley and Ekitike are 5 reasons I don’t see us finishing higher than last season unless they are replaced. With that logic we should get rid of 4 or 5 more and finish 2nd.

Without any signings I think we’ll land about 5th-7th and I’d be relieved as it means the new manager delivered about par with the squad he has. We’ve no bench when you compare it to say Arsenals and you need an equally strong bench to compete 3 games a week. A few injuries to players like Virg and Isak and we could do a Spurs like spiral.

Everyone loved Slot his first season. Main thing is like you said is he needs to be backed properly before it goes sour. My frustrations are with Hughes and Edwards. This was all so obviously predictable 8-10 months back. We knew it was a World Cup year. We knew the issues, as we had a season where we could see the glaring holes in the team every single game. We knew the injuries we had and the recovery time. We knew leaving it all to do in the summer was an issue so letting Jan window pass was a choice. We knew the players who were leaving and likely to leave in Mo Robbo and Ibu. So where we are now is a choice. Nothing about the situation is a surprise or shock. They are decisions we’ve made or not made.

It’s insane where Edwards and Hughes have landed us. Iraola will have the same hate as Slot by the turn of the year unless they back him.

Not getting Semenyo still does my head in.

We should campaign to reduce the prem to a 7 aside league. That way we’d have subs AND could buy yacht’s.

If that’s all we do we’ll be looking for a new manager next summer having dropped out of the champs league while complaining the manager never used subs well even though he didn’t have any. We went from league winners to sacking the manager and then lost Ekitike Mo Robbo Bradley and Konate and still haven’t replaced Diaz. We need minimum 5 or 6 signings and should have started in Jan knowing the World Cup was on. It can’t be a surprise it was on.

Just get Nathan Collins in until these new guys are prem ready. He can cover both until we know they are fine. I'd rather that be Gomez but I'm not sure you can risk it.

So Dom to RB by September so......We've only got loads to do because we allowed ourselves loads to do. If we think Frimpong is the main man then fine. But if not we really need to get a RB in an not compromise midfield at the same time. Frimpong isn't Mo's replacement is he?

I know what you're saying but I'm not sure we can level that at them. Grav has been exceptional at times turning and splitting defences and Macca when not playing like a 60 year old has a great pass in him too. But pace and recovery is an issue. I can't tell if it's them two or the set up around them. I'm fixated with it all completly falling apart once all the pressers up front went. Diaz, Jota, Darwin and Mo's legs. Everything looked crapper when we gave elite defenders all the time in the world to make slide rule passes out from the back through our midfield with no one pressuring them. With Dom at RB behind him and Chiesa starts : )

Maybe we are looking for one as well as all the other business we need to do but I think the midfield will look loads better if and when we have pressers up front, Dom somewhere in midfield and an actual RB in the team again. Love us to sign another midfielder who can pass and run hard but forwards and defenders feel like more a priority to me. At some point VVD is going to pick up an injury and we need a senior CB to lead that line. I'd like to say it's Gomez but.... How many signings have they and Chelsea made this summer?

I think Grav and Dom as the two would work if Dom could learn to do less back heels to no one. He plays a 4-2-3-1 so one of the two could be Grav and then maybe more of a holder if he doesn't see Dom as that guy? We probably won't replace Mo so Dom will play wide right of the 3. So either Jones or Macca? --------Isak Gakpo---Wirtz---Dom ---Macca?--Grav

We’ve gone from league winners to sacking the manager. Just to stand still while others are strengthening we need to replace Mo, Ekitike, Diaz, Konate and Bradley, the latter freeing up Dom to get back to midfield. I agree we still need another midfielder but that would be 6 players in the next few weeks.

We wouldn't be in the champs league next summer with that forward line. It can't happen. Well it can but i'm hoping it doesn't. There are no excuses really. They've had 2 years to replace Diaz and have known Mo was off for an age. We're two forwards down on last season and we were short then so....
