    if you can't see the benefit (albeit to Sven & England, not Liverpool, i grant you)of playing Gerrard with a different CM i'm amazed. How can that experience not benefit Carrick & England, should Lampard be ruled out of any matches?

    this season Lampard has 7 yellows for chelsea + 1 for England Gerrard has 2 yellows for us they've played nigh on the same amount....

    its not about knowing what to do its about giving players some pitch time together matches are different to training, remember?

    for the manager to look at another central midfield option if Lampard got injured or suspended, to give that midfield a bit of experience against south american opposition, cos this is the last chance for it before the world cup... this isn't tough to work out.

    you make out like othrwise he'd be rested up in bed between matches, if he wasn't with England he'd be training anyway. This is a friendly, he wants to play, it isn't going to kill him.

    sure he got one best round of applause i've ever seen for a half time penalty shoot out. The city lad who did the "Easy, Easy" arm wave/clap with his crutches made me laugh too.
