hang on - we were s*** v Wolves on Tuesday. I only saw highlights v West Ham - but we won 5-2 so i'm guessing it wasn't soul-draining. We were pants at Forest but won. We were excellent v Brighton the week before, pretty good at Sunderland, v good in the 2nd half v City (really shouldn't have lost that), dreadful for 30 and then excellent v Newcastle and smashed Qarabag. That's our last month or so, as i remember it. We're wildy inconsistent from one match to the next, one half to the nextr and sometimes from 5 minutes to the next - and i imagine manager/players alike are unable to explain it. They're certainly currently unable to fix it. But that wasn't all soul-draining. There was fight and bottle in amongst some soft, s***e, late goal nonsense too. It's a tough season - especially after the high of the title last May. Suck it up buttercup, is where i am with it. Maybe it's my age. I've been lucky enough to see us win everything. I still love to win. It still hurts when we lose. I'm still 'invested'. I'm still posting here 24yrs and counting i just can't be doing with all the doom and gloom. Season isn't over. It's only football.

depends what you mean by 'know more about their clubs ' - but for sure they all care more. That doesn't mean their judgment is necessarily better than people actually making decisions. I reackon i could take the pepsi challenge v anyone at FSG about their 'knowledge' of Liverpool Football Club. Doesn't mean i'm qualified to run the place, or would pick the right next guy to take over from Slot, control a £500mm commercial department, pull the trigger on a multi-million pound deal for the next superstar midfielder on the back of all the scouting/date reports, or negotiate a transfer deal with some c*** of an agent, or oversee a youth academy or any of the other myriad of things that the club actually is beyond the 11 lads kicking the ball about on a Saturday. I wouldn't have appointed Hodgson. I wouldn't have sacked Kenny. I wouldn't have appointed Rodgers. I wouldn't be sacking Slot now. I might in the summer. If it happened I'd rather give Gerrard the job than Alosno. I 'know' about my club. Doesn't mean i'd have made the right choice in any of those situations.* . *Apart from Hodgson. I called that c*** from a mile away.

absolutely the same - it's mad - but whatever it is, i don't think Slot is to blame for everything. He's the manager so ultimately it is his responsibiliity/carries the can but i don't think a new guy changes this round at the moment. Maybe in the summer with a bit of time to reset, new players, full pre-season - but with the World Cup happening, maybe not.

and how many of our fans would have picked Slot to take over from Jurgen? That same Spurs fan would be saying after 3 losses that doing it in Hungary means f*** all compared to the Premier League and whilst 'we loved him as a player no way was he ready to take on the Spurs job, it needed someone with experience'. Carrick lost his first United game yesterday and their fans were straight in with 'see, that's why he shouldn't get the job full-time'. Despite singing a different tune a week ago Fans have thousands of opinions, none of them ever need to be tested and they can change them like the wind and have another pint and come up with something new. and will do again - en masse - if they f*** the title up from here

there's a fine line between being ahead of the game and knee-jerk k***headery form bad - SACK THE MANAGER - it's an easy thing for a fan/fanbase to demand without any consequence for them with no understanding of the financials involved, who else is available, the financial consequences of getting them - all while expecting to siGnBiGnAMEs, splash the cash but keep inside PSR. New manager comes in and nothing really changes? f*** it, Sack him. Get the next one. He's rubbish? Sack him, there's always someone else. Spurs fans on the radio today want the new guy sacked, replaced with Robbie Keane. Manager's tenures seem to get ever shorter. Does it work? Sometimes, yeah. Where is Spurs' new manager bounce? Every club can sack their manager 5 times each a year but there will still only be 1 club as League champion and 3 clubs getting relegated at the end of the season. There is no or very little patience anywhere anymore. Managers have to prioritise the pragmatic over everything, which is why the best team in the land currently, the culmination of 6 years of Arteta's efforts and over a £billion spent are as boring as f*** to watch, prevent the game from being played for a third of its duration, foul, cheat, feign injury and play for corners. i've lost my thread now but f*** it. f*** IT ALL.

“I was particularly impressed by one poster’s relentless reference to Arne being a ‘slaphead’ and that really tipped the balance of the Board”
