I'd not be at all troubled if he signed. I don't rate players easy but I think this lad will come good. If it's goals you're after that is. He won't do a whole heap with his back to goal or going towards his own goal.

I think whoever thought up the notion it might somehow have something to do with appeasing the Arsenal faithful, what with Thierry's imminent departure was on the right track. Sven's an ass. Isn't it also uncanny how similar Henry and Gerrard's positions are heading into the CL final.

John Gles wrote a good piece about this last nigh, basically musing that Sven's never been a gambler, in fact quite the opposite if you analyse team and squad selections. All of a sudden he takes this punt n a kid. Totally out of character, so much so it has to be seen as panic

Jenas is average, Hargreaves isn't even average. England's first 11 MIGHT be decent, depending on who and where he picks them. I can imagine a bit of a revolution a la the Dutch at this tounament in the England camp. Adds to the curiosity value, which is a good thing for me.

In no specific order I'll be looking out for good football from Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Italy. I'll be curious as to England's tactics and how our lads are used and how woefully inept Sven is. -

FFS, Lampard and Gerrard isn't even a contest. Ridiculous. One justifies his hype with goals the other influences the game beyond a 1 in 4 goals to games ratio, but certainly weighs in. Heard it said that Lampard's impossible to mark. I'm sure he is, becaus ehe spends as little time in the middle of the park doing what he should.
