  3. IF I was the manager: Robinson Neville Terry Ferdinand Cole Lennon Gerrard Carrick Cole Owen/Lampard Crouch I'd have players playing in their best positions and I think Lampard's is off the front player (might sound crazy) so he doesn't ruin Gerrard's shape when he's caught the wrong side of the ball. Carrick's in for want of a better alternative but I'd change it to suit opponents, with a more defensive cover if you're up against a Kaka or Riquelme as Carrick would be lost. If Crouch is in I think a marauding speedster like Lennon just about gets the nod on Beckham, but his set pieces would be missed. Cole doesn't give a great deal of width, so it's important one flank stretches play somewhat as England without Rooney are rubbish if it's played to feet to the front players. My tuppence.

  5. Now there was a player who never got the credit. Ps. Cobs, did you know you're next after me in numbers on this beautiful ste? Oh and Frank Lampard is rubbish
  6. Let's cut to the chase. Lampard's rubbish, surely it has to be mentioned in every post.
  7. Jeez, not practiced enough pens?!. Modern day epitomy etc etc.. He thinks we're all swooning at his bedazzling skills.
  8. Cobs, is this the comedy club I saw a post about yesterday?
  9. I think I've said before I don't rate him. He's a tidy player with a decent goal return. Spends far too much time for a central midfielder ahead of the ball. Call me old school but I like my centre midfielders running the game or at least in a position to stop someone on the opposition doing it. Frank needs to score goals to have any major influence on a game, which he does quite regularly in fairness, but I've rarely seen him run a game. Shapeless. I'd suggest he's a number 10, if you know what I mean, as pposed to a 6 or 8.
  10. Gerrard is such the better player for having Xabi ad Momo around him. Xabi keeps the ball moving quickly whilst Momo covers every part of the pitch defensively. Compare that with Frank and Carra, King, Carrick or whoever else they get in beside him. Disastrous stuff. Sven just gives me the impression he's clutching at straws, making it up as he goes along.
  11. It's the worry of what strikers we're going to miss out on. Can't cope.
  12. Worried? I'm sh1tting sticks.
  13. I forgot to mention that my view above is my opinion, not to be taken seriously at all.
  14. He's rubbish. Epitomy of the hyped up crap we get these days.

  16. Hyypia is far more comfortable with a ball than either of the aforementioned. And even still he's a bit on the slow side.
  17. The wizard Kilbane at left back, if young Mark Gonzales has any sense he'll switch over to his side, the great big lummox.
  18. Carra and Terry not compatible at the VERY top level of International football. Both out and out defenders who are comfortable-ish on the ball and with a fair 'bit' of pace.
  19. Can't compare the two. Gerrard still a bit to do in terms of running games the way Keane did. Gerrard's got tons more ability and is by far the more explosive player but Keane was simplicity in itself. kept the ballmoving, if it couldn'tgo forward,it went sideways and if it couldn't go sideways it went back, just to keep the ball. Sometimes Gerrard is reluctant to simply old onto it for the sake of possession. I'd still have Gerrard everytime.

  21. Indeed Cobs but they had a crazy dip in form, with the introduction of a clutch of new, young players. The form they showed towards the back end of the season will be more representative of the overall challenge Arsenal will present next year, and in that time he was simply brilliant, at times unplayable.
  22. Aye Cobs, which as things stand between Arsenal and us might decide who finishes above who, not to mention the points he accumulates for them throughout the season. My point being without Henry, I'd be far more confident we be above them, which might be the difference between 1st and 2nd.
  23. I'm gutted he's staying, our main focus is winning the title now and he's one of the few players that can stop us doing that, more or less on his own.
  24. I know he's leaving Barca this summer, but where is he going? The reason I mention him in this forum is he's one of the top players I rarely see linked with us and he'd be exactly what I thought we were getting when we got Morientes. A more than capable target man who runs channels and playes some excellent football, inside and outside the box, not to mention an excellent finisher. Watchin him last night got me to thinking about Henrik. Understated brilliance, led by example when it was most required, unlike Henry and Ronaldinho, both of whom were hell-bent on emphasising to the world how much better they were. Both were far too interested in expressing their passion, as opposed to bloody just doing it. I'd take him in a shot.
  25. I swear I'd just ask for the red early. I'd murder that ponce.
