The deciding factor in this really is performance over results.
If we were playing like a promising team in transition, like we did in Rafa's and Jürgen's debut seasons, this would be different. We weren't winning as many games as we ought to, but you could see what we were trying to do and that were in a process of being put together.
I don't see anything out on the pitch that makes me think "OK, we really struggle to see out games and put games to bed, but what we're doing for 40-60 minutes in those games is really bright stuff."
There's nothing on display that makes me think there's a project here that's worth investing time and patience in. And this is true when we are winning games as well. The last time I thought there might be something there was the draw against Arsenal. And that was itself a solitary occurrence. We can't throwing away this team's potential on so little.
