  1. £40 to the HJC says we won't win the league under Rafa.
  2. There actually aren't many good reasons here to be honest
  3. Partly true, the teacher moved me to the front of the class and I did much better.
  4. There is talent there, he is too lazy to warrant any more chances, but Rafa needs to get more from him. It's not all Babel's fault, no matter how lazy he is.
  5. I agree in many parts. I mean at the Derby I have never shouted 'you lazy s***' so many times.
  6. I'm not saying Babel doesn't help himself, but I've got a feeling that as soon as he leaves us he will be a world beater. If a player can come on and make the impact as he did v Arsenal and Lyon then surely there is something there. To blame is all on Babel is harsh IMO. But then again, I forgot Rafa is about as accountable to anything as a new born baby isn't he fletch? Or Rafa un-willing to play him upfront?
  7. I don't think it's that clear cut to be honest, I used to think it was but I've spoken to numerous fans of opposition clubs saying they would walk Babel here and that he's underplayed by Rafa. I don't know, I think he can perform 10x better than what he is doing, and it's down to Rafa to get that out of him.

  10. Well we have had Johnson, Carra, Gerrard, Torres to name a few out with injuries, only Carra rarely gets them.
  11. Injuries sorry, should have elaborated.
  12. There is deffinatly a snobbery about this 4-4-2 System, and I don't see why.
  13. Well considering the amount of injuries our players have been suffering from it may be time to look at what we are doing wrong. Although they do have a cheek.
  14. Thats twice someone has said that now. If it's so s*** why are you here? Or are there a few home truths being spoken that you don't like?
  15. As a side note, Fletch, how can you pick so many holes in a manager who has never managed us, but hardly ever criticise a manager who has been relatively s*** recently. I mean I understand the concept of supporting, but you are finding holes in a manager who is clearly world class, but are creating spreadsheets to defend a manager who has went from challenging for the league to being out of Europe and fighting for fourth.
  16. Perhaps, but my point is it's about making the right replacement.
  17. Had we not won anything, finished 10th after we sacked Houllier. Would the decision to have sacked Houllier been wrong?
  18. Haha
  19. Torres came out last year and said his future wasn't linked to that of Rafa's.
  20. Your not defending Benitez, you're deriding other managers. Is there ANYONE you would want if Benitez packed his bags right now? Is there ANYONE you rate higher than Benitez? There is support Fletch and there is denial. Hiddink is a respected manager amongst the footballing world, a highly rated manager. Just as much if not more so than Benitez. I understand your concerns and you do raise some good points, but Hiddink is without doubt one of the best around. People wrongly claim the spanish contingent would leave if Rafa did, however if thats the case surely a managerial appointment like Hiddink would keep them here.
  21. Reasonable backing being the sticking point. I think he's had enough quality to win the league, or to perform better than he is doing now.
  22. What are you talking about fletch? At any other club, at any other time Rafa would have been gone in November, now just because we are unique in that aspect doesn't make us any bigger or any better, it just makes us stupid. Time and time again has Rafa quipped 'I could have went to x, y, z' and the fact is he wouldn't have it any better. We have the Mancs on the verge of overtaking our league haul, we have City outspending us, and here we are too s*** scared to get rid of an under performing manager. A simple question Fletch. Do you believe at any point Rafa will win the league at Liverpool?
  23. FWIW I don't think Aqui will make it in the English league. I think he clearly knows the game, when you see him play you know he knows whats around him, it's just he doesn't act fast enough. I would like to see him behind Kuyt and Gerrard back into midfield. But that would be something different, and we don't like that.
  24. Who said anything about winning the league with Hiddink? It's about getting this bunch of players, installing new ideas and confidence and pushing forward and making the most of this season. We will not win the league under Rafa so I see no point in keeping him on. Our recent run of 'good form' has seen one half decent performance, and generally the same old dull football. Houllier beat United in his last season, I want to challenge for the league, anything else is a failure. If we get Hiddink in we get him in for the rest of the season, then take stock. Once more I am not talking about winning the league with him, but if he could get this side playing confident football as well as looking as if we can push forward as well as winning the UEFA Cup along the way, then great I'd give him a 3 year contract. This 5 year plan is a tried, tested and not working forumla, we cannot allow ourselves to be in a position like we have been with Rafa. Once more, if we got Hiddink in his job would be to get us playing good football, install confidence in the players and to try and win the UEFA Cup. Anything after that can be decided after that. No one is expecting miracles, but I fail to see the point in keeping a manager who ultimately won't be able to win you something you want.
  25. As I said, short term possibly long term. You can point to his club record and predict he isn't going to win a league title. But is Rafa going to here. I doubt it. Who knows how it could work, if he wants to do the same deal with us as he did with Chelsea, great. I'm not saying he's the long term solution, but he's certainly a viable candidate to get us out of this s***.
