We can't possible expect Aquilani to be a good player because Manchester City's net spend is so good.
-
We needed to win, we should set out to win every-game. Go on Dad, your turn. The circumstances that saw us challenge for the league last year, replace those we sold? Them circumstances yeah?
-
Grow up? I'm not the one whipping out spreadsheets chatting on about money being a barometer for quality, and how we can't expect to finish above 17th because our wage bill is so s*** or what not. f***ing hell, am I watching the same game as you lot? Are we actually playing boss football and beating everyone in site?
-
I should be grateful for fourth place?
-
We are fighting for fourth, forgive me if I'm not over the moon after another 90 minutes of turgid dog s*** football.
-
Oh here we go, money, money, money Whatever happened to judging players on quality? They spent a large f***ing chunk of that on Robinho and look how s*** he turned out to be. We have our own qualities, which helped us get 2nd place last year. If you think we should happy with fighting for fourth, a point with a s*** performance, then f*** me I must be supporting the wrong club.
-
The tension between us is unbearable.
-
No I don't I just don't see how any Liverpool fan in their right mind can turn around and be happy about that match.
-
Roll on the open top bus.
-
Someone should inform Benitez, because he's been deploying that system and it's been doing more harm than good for us recently.
-
It isn't so bad when it's Torres with Gerrard in the hole, but when it isn't it's f***ing dire. There was a moment in the 1st half where Kuyt and Babel where virtually playing in a 4-4-2 and they played off eachother brilliantly. You've got Kuyt coming inside for the ball, Babel running about, Maxi doing f*** all, Lucas un-able to find the forward pass and Gerrard wasted. We have needed Stevie back in midfield to pull the f***ing strings, but since we wasted a s*** load of money on Aquilani we now have to lie in this bed that we made.
-
Clearly, but when you've been consistently s*** it's very worrying. Once more our game plan was to contain and take 1 of very few chances. s*** football with no one pulling the strings in midfield. Also the last sub was f***ing bizarre.
-
Fletch has never criticised the manager, he is the sort of person who judges performances by stats, he's the sort of person who will look at Lucas' pass rate and see that it's 100% claim he had a boss performance, but totally ignore the fact his passes where backwards.
-
Rafa said when we bought Aquilani that he was a £30 Million player that we got for £20 Million. Aquilani started 50 games in 3 seasons prior to joining us. If he is as good as Rafa says he is, he needs to play week in week out. In the past two seasons we have completely thrown away £40+ Million worth of talent, and people say Rafa needs more f***ing money?
-
Oh my f***ing god.
-
The Reading, Pompey games tell a different story.
-
He relies on us getting 1 or 2 breaks whilst containing the opposition. If the opposition bring the game to us we are f***ed, even Portsmouth and Reading know that.
-
FFS? Give over, if anyone is arrogant it's Rafa Benitez, as I said our game plan consists of creating one or two chances and hoping we take them, in turn hoping the opposition don't do anything. We are set up to contain the opposition be it United or Unirea. We stick to the same f***ing stupid formation despite the fact we play turgid dog s*** football and are going nowhere fast and when Gerrard is running forward all you can hear from the sidelines is Rafa squeezing his hands and shouting 'CONTAIN'. It wasn't so bad when we had Alonso and a fit Torres, it tended to work more often than not. Now we have Ngog upfront and s*** Aquilani doing the square root of f*** all in the centre of the park. You have Gerrard un able to make an impact because Ngog is so s***. Rafa's inability to cope without Alonso, and to change things has been our un-doing. You can point to the fact we have conceded less goals recently, but by the same token it's taken us till February to get it right, and we still play turgid dog s*** football. We pass the ball sideways continuously for 90 f***ing minutes hoping Ngog will find the space which he hardly does, THEN when we actually do something different like hit the ball in the box with Babel we actually score which is great, but he won't start v City. We haven't played a game of footie in weeks where we dominated the opposition and created numerous chances, our chances have been few and far between and we have hardly created anything. Unirea was a perfect example of that lack of ambition and s*** house tactics.
-
Our game plan consists of keeping the game tight, controlling the game taking 1 of our 2 chances, and hoping the opposition are s***. It's dreadful. It's almost disgraceful almost 6 years into Rafa's reign. We may have started to stop conceding goals, but it's like locking the door when the horse has bolted, or whatever the saying is. Our football is s*** and our ambition is to defend and contain no matter who the Romaninan 'haven't played in 2 months' no mark side is.
-
It's been jerking for 6 or so months now
-
Apart from look a better player than everyone else on the pitch when he has came on, and set up a goal yesterday? He must start v City.
-
Then change the current formation
-
He offered something different which worked, I reckon he won't play v City
-
If there was ever a game which proved to me that we will go on to achieve the square root of f*** all that was it. We set out to control the game against a Romainian side who have not played a competitive game since December, who come from a town of only 20,000 people, and who are essentially a s***ty no mark club. We played turgid dog s*** football with no attacking impetus whatsoever, Ngog is absolutely f***ing awful and the game only changed when Rafa actually made a substitution. Then you've got the two holding midfield players and Aquilani, seriously that lad is showing himself to be overrated beyond belief, all we did for the first half was pass the ball f***ing sideways until they budged. Our game plan once again is pass it sideways until we can create ONE CHANCE with ONE PLAYER upfront. He does not deserve to be on that banner of greats. Beyond f***ing livid.
