Without Gerrard and Torres, and Xabi alonso. We need to use our players more in different positions, Yossi can play in numerous positions, as can Babel, as can Stevie and thats without mentioning Riera and Aurelio on the left hand side. There is equally little point in having an inexperienced barge pole upfront on his own. Only Torres can do that with Gerrard, but when he has this season he hasn't been exactly great?
-
He is awful gibbo, in that role anyway. He fills me with absolutely no confidence and all he seems to achieve is getting kicked to s***. It's alright when you have a player who can convert the very few chances he has, but he doesn't. We need to play 4 4 f***ing 2, and it's no coincidence we played better when we played 4 4 f***ing 2
-
How Ngog stayed on is beyond me. All he seems to do is get kicked, miss the odd chance and fall over. He's awful, and he's awful in that role. We where never going to win with him upfront on his own.

Knowledgeable how? How can you be so knowledgeable about something without seeing it first hand? Football is a game of opinions, now believe it or not people actually go the game and discuss the team, the formation and conversations usually begin with 'This is what I would do'. I spent half time saying how we should bring Babel on, and that came back to bite me. How can someone understand this football club, and the game in general without walking to Anfield seeing a match day first hand and claim to be a fan? The sights and smells, the banter everything that involves going the match. I don't get how you can be one of the knowledgeable football fans without EVER going the game. I mean without making an effort. I mean it would be so bad if you lived in America, where a reds fan but watched La Galaxy, because at least you watch the football, but if your going to say that the most knowledgeable fans on here are the ones that don't go the game, well that's just mental. I remember arguing with Fletch (sorry if it wasn't you) or someone off here when they said 'You don't go the game and discuss what you would have done'. What you have not experienced, you will never understand.

FWIW When we played Reading and someone tried to get his song going I didn't join in, but I did yesterday, numerous times.
-
It makes perfect sense to me, it's about supporting your side, and your club.
-
Well what is it then? Because I don't feel like a hypocrite, I support Liverpool Football Club, what you say makes no sense at all whatsoever to me. I go the match to support. I don't see the point in going the match and just kicking off about everything, booing et all. I'll save that for the pub, or here, and yesterday I didn't moan at the pub. I just had a few drinks and revelled in the brilliance of a Derby win.

We do It's Lucas Leiva, Lucas Leiva Hey Hey Like the Pepe one
-
But it's okay for us to go from challenging for the league to fighting for fourth?
-
Moyes Mourinho Hiddink Rikaard King Kenny Wenger Ancelotti Del Bosque Baconface Harry Redknapp In terms of managers who might have been available at the time, about only half of them. But it's pure hypothetical anyway had they had control of our side I believe they may have won the league, and also not wasted money on Keane and Drossena

Fair Post. However, how much has he changed this season? Our early (perhaps current) inability to cope without Alonso was awful, we have numerous players who can play in different positions and instead we stuck with the two holding midfield players, a largely out of form Kuyt and our defence was f***ing s*** and has only looked like it's getting back to the way it was. Your making it out that I am saying that Moyes is perfect, and he isn't I just think he is a good manager, and I know about his failings but the difference is the following, let me make this clear. 1. I think Moyes is a good manager 2. I think he would do better with the current crop of players, how better or worse is anyones guess. 3. I don't want him as Liverpool manager, I want someone better like Mourinho, or Hiddink. 4. I know about his mistakes, I have not claimed him not to have them 5. I don't think his transfer record is perfect, but I think he has found a few gems for very little money I'm not going to excuse Moyes (and I actually have a few), because quite frankly I don't give a s*** about him, or his team or his s***ty no mark club. I'm simply stating that I am an admirer of what he has done at Everton, and despite him being a massive tool I actually think he's done exceptionally well at a very badly run football club. I would much rather talk about our manager, and our predicament, rather than a throw away comment of how much I rate another manager, I'm not going to repeat myself in regards to my reasons why I want the manager out of the club, because you've only probably excused them before. But once more, I find it rather confusing how you can be so ferocious in your criticism of an opposition manager, but let Benitez get away with murder. Anyway, what the f*** has this got to do with us beating Everton?
-
Sounds like our Rafa that. We looked woefully inept and out of ideas when we played Wolves, Blackburn, Arsenal etc. That's not to excuse what other mistakes Moyes has made, I just can't see how you can be so acceptant of the mistakes Rafa has made, make excuse after excuse, but when it comes to another manager of another club you highlight their mistakes like god knows what. Considering how hard you defend Benitez, I find it quite bizarre how you can be so angry with another manager of another club, who is making mistakes , it's funny how you can find an excuse for practically any accusation levelled at Benitez, but you won't give the same room to other managers. Blind faith maybe? I honestly don't give that much of a s*** what Moyes does or doesn't do, I just think he's a good manager who may have won the league last year with us, but that being said I could probably name about 10 other managers who could have won the league with us. But anyway, if you are going to highlight every mistake Moyes makes from now until whenever, then fair play to you, but quite frankly I'd prefer to point out the mistakes OUR manager is making, but then you'd only excuse them. But serious question, what do people believe I was thinking when that final whistle blew at the end of the game, serious question. I think a few records need to be set straight here.
-
Just because you have the right tools doesn't mean by association you can utilise them properly. I doubt we have a squad that can win the league straight off, but I believe given the in's and out's transfer wise at this club, we shouldn't be where we are, not after nearly 6 years, and certainly not after the season we just had. As I said a while back, I doubted whether we could win the league under Rafa, then we went on that run of form, and I thought we would. Then this season happened and it all fell to s***. Not only now do I think we will not win the league under Rafa, I don't think we will even challenge for it again. If it was up to me now I would sack him without a moments thought, Houllier in his last season beat United away, and won the Derby as well to boot. He finished fourth and it wasn't good enough for him, so why should it be for Rafa, when considering how far we have actually fallen. I hope he will turn it around, I hope this is the start of something new, I hope we will push forward. But the thing is, I don't think we will.

That was just an example, I could have picked out the season before last and the run of draws at home we had which cost us the league. Who knows? It's precisely because of those great results v the bigger sides I am so pissed off at Rafa. The wins v United and Chelsea where an achievement, but you can't say they where an achievement by Rafa, then our downfalls due to an external factor.
-
What's your point? If we lost to a 10 man Everton we would have Fletch doing a spreadsheet telling us everything is okay, we'd have another podcast where everyone agrees and someone will lob up a Youtube video saying 'Only real fans please watch this' I could pick out a s*** load of moments where Rafa has f***ed up, and I suppose you could pick out many a time where Moyes has f***ed up as well. To call Moyes clueless after we have been knocked out the club twice by lower league opposition in the past two years is laughable. One bad game doesn't change anything for anyone, both managers if they left their respective clubs now would still be good managers. If Benitez left Liverpool tomorrow it wasn't because he was a bad manager, it would be because he wasn't good enough for us, and that he had took us as far as he could. I'm sorry, I must have missed the tactical genius of Rafa Benitez these past few months. I don't know whether Moyes would have won us the league last year, what I would say though is any manager who twists rather than sticks would have won the league last year. It's the only solace I take from us being s*** is that I was right months ago. My knowledge is quite frankly, outstanding /sarcasm

No one wants to lose the Derby, I wouldn't want to lose the Derby if it meant Rafa went, it's stupid to suggest otherwise. Yes I have given Moyes praise in the past, and yes I do think he would have done a better job with this current set of players, but what that has to do with not being able to enjoy a Derby win is beyond me. The Derby is just one game where the normal rules of football don't apply, as long as we win it it doesn't matter how we do it, as long as we do so. I was talking with people on here over the past few days saying had we set up like we did yesterday we wouldn't win, but we did and full credit to Rafa. I'm happy we won the Derby, and I'm happy for the club as a whole. This isn't about point scoring, I want Rafa to win games, I want him to 30 games on the bounce, but I don't think he will, and I don't think we will win the league under him. I'm just enjoying one of the best Derby wins since the Torres one the other year, because we've had very little to smile about recently.

How many of those passes where backwards?
-
The thing with him is that I'm not entirely sure what he does anymore. Is he a defensive midfielder, is he playing the Xabi role? Is he more advanced? I mean yesterday (probably because we where down to ten men) he was playing the traditional Javier role, and as mentioned done a terrific job. We played with intensity after the goal and he looked very comfortable doing so, I think with Lucas it's a confidence thing just as much as anything else actually. If the team are playing well, he plays well. He didn't look out of sorts. I maybe am being a bit too harsh on him, he has shown balls against the doubters and kept his head down. But far too many times this season have I saw him giving the ball away, creating f*** all and being a massive liability, he doesn't seem to provide a moment of pure genius, when we play well he stands out, when we play bad he stands out like a sore thumb. It's going to be an interesting few months for him though, Rafa doesn't seem totally convinced with Aqui, and I think he doesn't know whether to stick or twist. Especially if Masch still wants to leave.
-
It was good to see him stick it too him. Although it just makes me squirm a tad bit when people go on about 'Sky' and just going against the grain because Sky said it, thats not to say everything they say is correct, because it's obviously not true, but from time to time their reporters, guests can be spot on. Our defence has been suspect this year, so it wasn't the worst question in the world. Although our defence and attack for set pieces was spot on yesterday, I mean Gerrard actually managed to beat the first man on a corner.
-
He had a good game, but he's still s***. He's only had about 3-4 outstanding games for us and that was one of them.
