  1. It seems you've come to the conclusion that Kenny only has his own interests at heart; I think you're wrong and I believe he is aware of his unique position and the influence he can bring to bear for the future of the club. I would stake all I have on Kenny's answer to NESV's request being, "what can I do to help?" and definitely not, "What's in it for me?"
  2. There has to be a "back to basics" approach. A manager with credibility, either temporary or otherwise, needs to come in and bring back the pride and belief to the squad we know exists in all; except the crap that Hodgson bought. There's every sense in putting Kenny in charge until the end of the season whilst he also participates in securing a good man for the future.
  3. I don't think they did but I don't think they cared by that stage. Kenny would have been too high a profile for their "crash & burn" plans, whatever we me might think of him. 88% of them, as I recall!
  4. Creative use of the facts there DH! To compare Rafa last season only with RH is selective at best. Also using current Inter form as a benchmark, when only a month back all was rosy is also selective. What's clear to me is that sacking Rafa without a credible replacement was just plain stupid and that's balanced I think.

  7. Perhaps the solution is to chant; "Dalglish, Dalglish, Dalglish, Dalglish, But obviously only on an interim basis." ;-)
  8. Stevie. That's the idea and of course they'll be passed to you for action at 6:00pm GMT. ;-)
  9. Based on Kev's recommendation we are running this poll and we would really appreciate those who who visit other forums, to request the identical poll there. We suggest the poll runs until Friday 5:00pm (GMT) and we publish the combined results at 6:00pm. We're happy to pass our results to another forum to publish or alternatively we'll take responsibility; we just want maximum cooperation on this to ensure that all the right people get the right message. Anyone who want to take this off line, please email me at peter@ynwa.tv.
  10. Don't forget 92% on YNWA voted NO to Hodgson before he even arrived. There was a combination of relief from some and resignation from others when Rafa left; many questioned the competence of the board to make that call and were of course ultimately right to do so.
  11. That's unnecessary, he's someone's Dad you know.
  12. Just wait for John H to say, "we were right to stick with the manager!"
  13. Maybe the bile from some but in reality only a few as a result of exasperation, is the only counter-balance to the extraordinary bias expressed in the media on a daily basis.
  14. Sorry DH, I just can't accept that assertion. In all of Rafa's term he never gave the impression that he inherited a poor squad from GH and in fact with his few but significant additions, he achieved success with that squad in his first season and just got on with the job. Not once did he criticise GH's appearance in the dressing room after the game and in 5 years, not once were we left with anything other than the impression that he respected LFC and understood the Liverpool Way. Contrary to this, RH has in the space of 4 months disrespected the club, RB, the fans and all that is enshrined in the true value of those traditions. RH seems quick to blame all his current failing on everyone except himself.
  15. You see, the problem I have here is that anyone who knows me would regard me as quite mild mannered; but my problem is that this isn't just about a new manager "finding his feet" and I will never understand what convinced the board he was a remotely adequate replacement for the world class manager he replaced, even if you believe he needed replacing. My main issues are; - a concerted media campaign which drove opinion against the previous "jonny foreigner" manager and contrastingly preaches patience for the current relegation-beating (but England international quality) Englishman, - support from certain ex-players, who seem only concerned about maintaining their popularity with the LFC gravy train, - his efforts to place blame for poor performances on the previous incumbent, despite minimal but notable departures in the summer and his own poor buys, - his attempts to dumb down our expectations. I've lived through the great years and the bad years and for me what's important is the future of the club and not just Bolton tomorrow or even where we may end up this season. I can't imagine a top class coach who would outwardly accept a draw against lesser teams, insist we performed well against Everton and still claim to have inherited a poor squad. Every statement he makes to the press is just more embarrassing, not just for him but for us as well. He belongs to the British managers' clique which supports his mediocre performances but rounds on a foreign manager at the first opportunity. I’d really love to see Rafa return, if only to stick up two fingers to all of those drove him out but the reality is that he won’t and so we desperately need to find a replacement of quality and competence, the sooner the better.

  18. Oh dear, do we really need to start listing Parry's c**k-ups over the past 8 years?
  19. I accept that you would say NO to Rafa but do you also say NO to Hodgson and if so, what would be your long term preference?
  20. Hey Kev! Two points here; firstly the £17m for Johnson is a press estimate and not what we actually paid. This was a calculation based on his agent's estimation and the whole transaction took account of the money owed by Portsmouth from the Crouch deal. On the second point of, "if Rafa had of stayed we would have done better, the same or worse", we'll never know of course but then many people assumed that it would get better with another manager and therefore sought his removal, without considering what type of replacement we would get in our current circumstances. This is the reason why so many have now come back and changed their minds, not because they think they were wrong but because maybe they realise that Rafa did indeed merit time to turn around our fortunes, give the difficulties under which he was having to work.
  21. Hello Mate! I would suggest that being prepared to judge over a longer period would imply that the decision taken in the first place was credible and made by people with some knowledge of football, along with the equally questionable decision to sack Rafa Benitez. Given that we know neither Broughton, Purslow or Ayre have any football experience and also that they chose to turn down Kenny's offer, would either suggest they asked someone outside the club or they followed the media hype. I suspect that they had other higher profile managers in mind but eventually panicked and offered the job to Hodgson, who willingly accepted. Remember, this was a manager on a year-to-year deal at Fulham who was offered a 3 year deal here!! So for me given the exceptional circumstances and the total lack of experience amongst the key decision-makers, I think the sooner he is relieved of his duties, the better for all concerned. You have also to remember that 80+% of people on here rejected him as a choice before he even joined and you also have to regard Kenny in a different light; Kenny would be regarded by fans as the club's "guardian" until a suitable replacement could be found and therefore he would not be judged on the same basis. Hodgson was never our man and there is almost no likelyhood that this will ever change; the fact that already so many would prefer to see Rafa back here is testimony in my mind to the fans willingness to stick with the manager.
  22. The link to this poll was originally posted yesterday but as a number of people commented that it was clearly designed to lead to specific answers, we closed the thread. However The questions are still relevant but the options need to be more balanced and cover most opinions, so I have revised the lst and perhaps people would like to vote based on their views today.
  23. Would someone like to submit suitable questions for our own poll on this issue?
  24. I would agree with that, except I am not sure I would be so keen for any of the current board or manager to spend it wisely.
  25. I think you'll find it's ................... nah!
