Liverpool keeper Jose Reina has hit out at Chelsea's Arjen Robben on the eve of their crucial FA Cup semi-final clash at Old Trafford.

The Reds keeper is unhappy with the Dutchman for his part in getting him sent off at Stamford Bridge earlier this season.

Reina was given a straight red card by referee Alan Wiley back in February when Robben crashed to the floor after the keeper lashed out late on in the contest.

The Spaniard was disappointed by the former PSV Eindhoven's star actions as he believed Robben deliberately tried to have him dismissed from the field.

"Robben disappointed me a lot," Reina told the Sun. "I have never playacted to get a rival sent off.

"I'll be coming up against Robben again, but I won't do what I did last time. I won't lash out, I'll be a calmer.

"His behaviour left a lot to be desired but I learnt from that mistake. The only consolation is that everybody was on my side and got stuck into Robben."

why highlight that?

This happens 427415545681 a season, and the answer is always the same, yet still someone thinks it's actually happened

Typical over the top Sky Sprats headline too, he's hardly hitting out is he, although next time I hope Pepe punches his lights out (when the refs not looking),

'Reina hits out at Chelsea ace' and Robben throws himself to the floor as he reads it.

Although he is right and Robben is a diver, and he clearly did it solely to get Reina sent off. At the time I thought Reina was stupid to do what he did and I still do.

it was a stupid thing to do, in hindsight.

hes only human afterall, and his actions were innocuos to say the least. how was he to know that a sniper in the crowd was gonna floor robben at that exact moment .

i think its too much to expect players, in the heat of the moment, in highly charged games of high importance to completely control yourself, its not like he punched him. you can;t legislate for the antics of robben, or that of rivaldo or bilic or van nistelrooy in games gone past.

if its come to the stage where you cant raise a finger in anger in case the opposing player rolls around and uses cheating to dupe the referee then we should all go home and look for another 'sport' to follow

Erm, because this is robben we are talking about, hardly a model of honesty, it's not like he's not got a reputation for going down like the sack of sh*t he is when an opponent brushes past him.

The tactic of winding up your opponents and over-reacting when they retaliate are not new to the game. It is a trademark of mourinho's teams, as evident at Porto as it is now at the chavs. I am certain someone as meticulous and as aware of the psychology of the game as Rafa is will have drilled into the team not to get wound up and and not to react in such an obvious way.

i've no doubt rafa and the players intended not to get wound up, but like i say, human nature takes over in the heat of the moment

I wish Reina would shut up, he seems to like talking to the press quite a bit.

I hope Pepe lamps him properly tomorrow. Give Robben a real reason to hit the deck and squeal like a bitch.

I'd say he talks less in fact. I an only think of a few interviews or quotes from him during his stay with us.
