I know this is going to seem like one of those really meaningless pointless what if?? threads but..

I'm really worried that Real might try and nick him in the summer.. and i believe that if the offer was right he would go..

I know its only guess work but Guillem Balague just seems to hint at it and he normally knows everything about spanish football..

Am i being stupid or is anyone else worried???

Strange i would feel more threatened if they tried to buy SG as I would be more nervous of him going.

But he says 'maybe Xabi Alonso or Cesc' - I really don't think there is too much to go on there.

Xabi recently responded to some speculation about a move to Real and while he wasn't as emphatic as I'd have liked he basically just dismissed the story.

I'd be a lot more worried if Barca were in for Xabi than if Real were.

No point worrying about what ifs or maybes

Xabi k/b'd Real to join us. They're now in worse shape. He's also intelligent.

Thats not right though, talks between Madrid and Sociedad had broken down completely earlier in the summer, Madrid then went for Vieira - who knocked them back. When we made our move, Madrid were out of the picture.

I think he's commited to us now though.

I just think it's hilarious that a team 'bankrolled' by the King of Spain, refused to pay the asking price for the one of the top three central midfielders in Spain.

Yet they forked out 12m quid (??) for Jonathan Woodgate !!

When you have World Class players like SG and XA you have to get used to the fact there will be speculation every year on their whereabouts next season. It is inevitable. Treat it as a compliment and enjoy it :D:unsure:;)

Kewell is due for renewal of his contract i wonder what will happen if a good offer comes in for him. I believe he will get a new contract and he will stay because he is a "Rafa" type player and he wants to win a title with us but i can see leaving before SG or XA.

They were holding out for Vieira at the time, the manager at the time (Camacho) didn't like Xabi either IIRC, he left after just a few games too :)
