Job selection process

Case

Recommended Posts

I recently had an interview for a new job and have found out today that they have been onto my current employer chasing up references, at what stage of the selection process would this be done?

Should I get the champagne out or what?

You're in. Celebrate. Do it now. No, NOT THAT bottle of wine, choose a better one.

That's it....

I was of the understanding that your current employer couldn't really say anything bad about you in a reference anyway. Set's themselves up for being sued if they do. Thought that these days they just consist of "yes, he/she worked here for x years!". I just thought it was more to check you are who you say you are.

" Hi, i understand Elisha used to work there ? Was he any good at his job ? Was he punctual, smart, pleasant to work with ? More importantly, why did Gerrard change his mind and who are we buying in January ? "

You go under a pseudonym in real life?

I take it you left out 'Goalkeeper for LFC 1912-1934' from your resume so as to not give clues to your real identity then?

In our place, after the interviews we only check the references of people we are gonna hire, so I'd say you're sorted - good luck...
