StevieC Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 My other half was sub-contracting in a beauty salon. The owner promised the earth (decor etc) - but nothing ever materialised. The owner also never put anyone under contract, preferring to rely only on verbal agreements. They’re bulls*** artists. My other half set up herself, and offered 1 month notice as goodwill. The salon owner is now saying 8 weeks notice is needed, and has locked the salon to prevent furniture (which I technically own as I paid for it with the invoices to prove it) being taken out. They’re threatening legal action (without basis) but short of brute physical force, can’t retrieve the furniture at present. They’ve also (verbally) abused and threatened my other half and the independent contractor who wants to leave too. I’m prepared to buy new furniture and sue them separately. I don’t mind bankrupting them for fun. I know full well their entire business is a dream for an HMRC inspector. What says the Gennie.
