LFC Fancal - basic but puts all LFC fixtures in calendar format along with stuff in default calendar

ESPN cricinfo and ECB apps - best two for cricket

Yep I agree the improvements aren't great. Thankfully I didn't update it on my tablet so still have a decent version.

Ha wish I'd done that. I deleted it as I was spending way too much time on it. When I downloaded it again I had a little play and went no thanks. I'm going to see if it's possible to get the old apk.

I like the changes they've made, especially the captain thing and the offside thing makes it more realistic.

I'm just too much of a tight a*** to upgrade it. Damn it if I want that kind of fun I want it for free and not 2.99 or whatever it is these days.

Greenify, system - absolutely awesome app, allows you to put apps into hibernate that would otherwise run in the background without you realising

Wakelock detector, system - best used in combination with the above, tells you all the apps that are constantly waking your CPU up (and therefore killing your battery) even when the phone is in standby

(Greenify and Wakelock, gave a new lease of life to my aging S3, it became more responsive and battery life was much improved)

Nova Launcher, system - allows absolute customisation of your home screen, notification bar, icons, grid (i.e. how many shortcuts you can have horizontal / vertical) widgets, etc etc...loads and loads of options

Twicca - Twitter app, good lightweight but is starting to date a little now

Dolphin Browser - t'internet browser, easy to use, flash built in

Poweramp - music player, really good, loads of options, widgets etc

Another vote for IMDB (also does cinema times now) and Swiftkey, some of the first apps I install whenever i get a new phone

The ones I used most on my tablet:

Evernote - I use it on my puter, tablet and phone. Invaluable.

Pocket - great for saving articles from the web to read later.

Kindle - Android app

gReader (used to use Feedly, but it started crashing constantly)

Tapatalk - forum app

Weather Bug - best free weather app that I've found

The Score - for sports scores

CloudMagic - email app

Not hugely into games apart from basic ones like Spider Solitaire. But I like Flick Shoot and Flick Shoot 2 footy games.

Even reading the blurb on the Play Store about tapatalk, I couldn't really see what it did.

Does it work/do anything with this forum for example?

I don't think this forum is on it. I use to read / post on 3 or 4 other forums I go on. It just reads much easier than looking at forums on tablet / phone browsers.

Do I need an app to play my music from the SD card, just be to android from iPod so not sure

Nope - i would think you can point your built in music player at your SD card - should be in the music player settings?

Most phones will scan and locate all the music automatically - otherwise download poweramp from the play store.
