FSG have pretty much all but checked out by the looks of things too. Just keeping the engine ticking until Bezos and co buy the lot.

I'm guessing FSG throwing the brakes on Edwards' multi-club thing was because of these sale negotiations. No mad big purchases, no rocking the boat while investors were in talks to buy the club. Edwards got told that, threw his toys out of the pram and has now f***ed off. Hughes probably started talking to Al Hilal around this time too.

We're basically a massive f***ing ghost ship until the full sale is completed.

I reckon the point is for Bhatia and gang to be involved in the new football structure across this season, then fsg exit at some point before next summer, with new sponsors, sporting director and staff in place.

Yeah, they’ve got an option to buy a majority stake haven’t they? This is just long drawn out due diligence.
