So the club are denying this was ever planned but staff at the hotel where it was supposedly taking place have told two different people that it was cancelled. Smooth moves as always, hey.

I'm sick and tired of people like Christian Purslow. Keep the pressure on him, this is one guy who can be removed by fan power alone.

Was it not a mistake to publicise the fact that SoS were aware of the event and planned to show up? If you were Purslow, what would you have done other than postpone the event (or more likely change the venue)?

Better to have the bank of questions ready and then deliver them 'unannounced'?

Possibly, but they publicised it to get more people down

And getting an event cancelled is sort of an achievement in itself

I think that might have been the point.

Should have publicised it though. Getting an event cancelled is brilliant if everyone knows you've got it cancelled.

Bit like stopping Tom Hicks getting in the ground, possibly the best thing the SOS ever did and nobody ever found out about it. That would be backpage news if it was a Glazer I reckon, sorry to make the annoying comparison.

Yeah it was annoying that. I know Brian Reade knew about it but he didn't even print it. Maybe it was too difficult to prove (as the official party line was that the owners weren't in the country that day).

Call me cynical, but I'd be surprised if it was cancelled - a change of venue more like. But we'll never know.

Anyway, that's just a minor annoyance and I suspect Purslow won't really give a f*** even if it was cancelled.

Much more effective to get the questions put into his hands and then publicise the fact - IMHO, obviously. Any time that a crowd scene develpps, the risk of it being misportrayed and therefore losing impact increases. Or if they do want a crowd to gather, surely there is a quieter way of getting numbers assembled (email/text) rathr than in full public view ??

not a big poster on the site at all but do follow avidly whats going on and was reading about how these questions were avoided.

I have an idea which maybe expensive I don't know but why not take out a full page ad in the nationals and put the questions to Purslow and the club in it.

That way the questions are asked in the full glare of a media spotlight where all supporters, sponsors etc get visibility.

I think that's a pretty good idea. Expensive yes, but great publicity.

I would be hapy to contribute towards the costs of this excellent idea. I'm am sure others would too.
