Summer "soccer" camps

Anyone got any experience of summer holiday football camps? what sort should I look for?

 

Are there any specific recommendations? How good are the club sponsored camps, is an FA course a good choice, what about residential options?

I remember going to one when i was a nipper,it was called 'soccer made easy'.Very good fun.Dont think it was FA licenced.

I have my 8 yo signed up for one at Creighton University.

 

His coach got a great deal as he got 6 kids on his team to sign up.

 

They stay in a room which has 8 beds, 6 kids and 2 adults. They stay for 4 nights and with all meals it cost us $149.

 

They get coached in small groups and get to hang out at the school's swimming complex every night.

 

The coaches get help from a bunch of Creighton soccer players.

 

My 11yo is doing something similar for basketball but that will cost us fair bit more as he's away for 6 nights.

 

Omaha has similar camps for all kinds of sports, mostly run by the local colleges.
