FC Showster Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I really hope Rafa sticks out the reserves on Sunday. I'm an OOC but I don't care about Sunday, even though it's against the bitters. The FA Cup, if we won it, won't save Rafa from flack if we fade away in the league. I hope he puts our eggs firmly in the league and CL baskets for the remainder of the season. I realise that it's the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough this year but that shouldn't dissuade us from doing everything in our power to win the bigger trophies. The 96 who lost their lives stay with us regardless of whether the anniversay is divisible by 10 (I hope that doesn't seem callous because it isn't meant to be) Stick out the kids and (hopefully) let Sunday be a learning curve for them, win or lose, in the transition towards regular first team action
cymrococh Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Jesus f***ing christ.I agree. With you, not him.
FC Showster Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 Jesus f***ing christ. No, it's me. You were close though
cymrococh Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 What is it with you Nordies and invoking Hillsborough in your nonsense posts? Who f*cking cares about Rafa getting flack? This club exists to win trophies.
Rimbeux Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Being in the FA Cup will make f*** all negative difference to a title challenge. Losing to Everton would dent the fragile ego we have just when we need to shift our momentum, particularly as the players certainly feel the importance of the occasion and bearing in mind we've been two seasons and counting with no honours
smithdown Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 If you wanna win the cup then you'd better hurry up and join Liverpool FC
CarraLegend Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 What is it with you Nordies and invoking Hillsborough in your nonsense posts? Yep, that was random and stupid. As is the stuff about putting out the kids. f***ing hell, put the kids out and let Everton beat us on our own ground, yeah what a great f***ing idea!!

Hillsborough was mentioned because Carragher was quoted as saying that this in all years, being the 20th anniversary, was one where we should be making an extra effort to do well in the FA Cup. Sorry if I bothered listening to a senior players comments, won't happen again
Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) This season I had no appetite for the FA Cup. It seems that we were faced with a dilemma with the round number of 20 for Hillsbourough and a really good challenge for the league title. I wont presume to say that 1 competition is of greater importance than the other only to say this.............the holy grail is the league (assuming the bitters dont beat us and then win the FA Cup). Take a decision from that Rafa because unless you beat Everton AND win the league, there will be some dissenting voice somewhere Edited January 21, 2009 by Rory Fitzgerald

You evidently didnt take in his comments properly did you seeing as you now dont care if we lose on our own ground to our f***ing local rivals.
johngibo YPC Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 6,000 of those c*nts are going to be in our ground on SundayI hope they don't win a f*cking throw in
Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Imagine the media pressure should we pick kids and lose. Craig Burley would jizz through his nose.

I wouldn't care if we lost 3 successive games to Everton at Anfield 5-0 if it helped us win bigger trophies than the FA Cup. Maybe I'm a complete muppet for that, you tell me, but I want to see us winning major trophies which shut up Everton fans for a damn site longer than an FA Cup 4th Rd tie. I'm not sure I want to risk our best players in a competition I don't give a s*** about 3 days before we go to Wigan in the league where we need to win and when we then have to play Chelsea after that

FC Showster Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 You are a complete muppet. You just dont understand. So if a win on Sunday costs us in the league and/or CL you are ok with that? Just to be absolutely clear.
cymrococh Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I find it really hard to compute the fact that you don't care about: a) Losing to themb) Winning the FA Cup.

It's fantasy. You might as well not have the players do any training in case they pick up a knock.
cymrococh Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 So if a win on Sunday costs us in the league and/or CL you are ok with that? Just to be absolutely clear.A win on sunday could not cost us in the league.
CarraLegend Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 So if a win on Sunday costs us in the league and/or CL you are ok with that? Just to be absolutely clear. Yes thats exactly what I said. You seem to have convinced yourself that its impossible to beat Everton and win another competition, are you a bit thick? Actually dont answer that, given you "dont care" if the team you supposedly support loses 5-0 at home to its local rivals the question answers itself.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I hope I'm not drawing flack towards you but I sense that you get where I'm coming from I live in Ireland and I never experienced the pain of Hillsborough as deeply as the rest of the reds. Its hard to say as an OOT that 1 is more important than the other. But from a personal point of view, its the league eveytime ............................... ecxcept when it comes to Everton, we cant let those ctuns beat us !!!!!!!!! If it were anyone else the fkec it, but because its those the kecF IT !!!!!!!!
FC Showster Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 I find it really hard to compute the fact that you don't care about: a) Losing to themb) Winning the FA Cup. If we were out of the CL and had no chance in the league then I'd desperately want us to beat them and I'd desperately want us to win the FA Cup. Seeing that we're joint top in the league, coming near the end of January, and giving it our best shot in years, I absolutely don't want to see Gerrard, Alonso, Torres etc ruled out for weeks by a s***house tackle from a bitter f*** in the derby in the FA Cup. If we beat them on Saturday but Torres is ruled out for the rest of the season, we go on to win the FA Cup and lose the league to United by a couple of points (big what if scenario I know) will you be consoled by winning the cup and beating Everton or will you be thinking, what would have happend if we had Fernando in the run-in, could he have won it for us? If the FA Cup is bigger than that then cool, let's go for it. But let's not have any talk over about how much of a priority the league is ever again

"Should I go to the shop now to get some bread, oohhh but what IFFFFFFF I get hit by a car" "Should I go out at night where the roads are quieter, but what IFFFFFF I get mugged in the dark?"

You can't legislate for when it happens. There are always 'what if?s', whatever happens. All I know is I want to humiliate those c*nts by showing our quality and I want to win any competition we are in.
