liverpool's spanish players

ive just been looking at a few web sites at some bits on our players and its suddenly struck me that the spanish players we have dont use their last names on their shirts. does anyone know why its always the second to last name?

there are obviously other players that tend to use a name thats isnt whats recognisable as a western family name or use but theres obviously a pattern here and so i assume theres some significance. if anyone knows id appreciate some feedback

I once worked with a lawyer in Ecuador who was introduced to me upon meeting him for the very first time as "Beltran Beltran Beltran".
