firstly, lets face it the place is a s*** hole, with a cross section of loons, and women over the age of 50 wearing very little clothing.

 

However, compared to there local rivals, i like there fans....They dont gob off generally, they dont have delusions of grandeur (Newcastle) and they dont smell of chemicals (Boro)

 

They seem to know there football, and talk sense

 

they also dont mind you having a drink in there boozers and will openly discuss the game without getting all shirty (yes, I am reffering to you Newcastle)

 

Also there is a great kebab house, some good boozers....and Lap Dancing clubs throughought the city, offering

Had a bit of a hairy experience winding my way back from the old Roker Park after the League Cup game when Fowler scored and Rob Jones got sent off in about 95/96. It was all pretty peaceful until the sending off (Jones t****** one of their lads, who also got sent off, for clattering into the back of John Barnes) but when that happened the atmosphere turned a bit, can remember all of them flooding out of that big f***ing hole that served as an exit in the middle of the home terrace at the end of the match. The journey back was interesting at times!

 

But yes, they are generally decent enough lads and agree that they are much preferable to Newcastle or Boro.

Ive sat in the away end at Sunderland with me old man cheering Owen scoring against them and apart from a few understandable groans had no toruble at all.
