who's happy with all things liverpool?

Wasnt sure what to put as the title there but after reading a few of the other threads, the transfer one as always and the one talkin about Rafa and his team building etc... just wanted to say that Im feeling pretty good about things at the moment. I'm not talkin about us all jumping up and sayin the usual at the start of every season. What I am saying is that it feels like we're going ni the right direction... there is a topic there asking what we'd be happy with next season etc etc but I want to know is are ya happy now.

Personally I think it's great to finally see some of the younger players that rafa and his staff brought in, actually making a push for a start or 2 next season. If the fans arent so happy with finishing 4th again next season then one or 2 of those players coming through might well save Rafa his job... that's my opinion anyway, even if i wouldnt even dream of sacking the man. I simply compare his time in charge with Evans and Houllier's time and think that things are a lot better than people give Rafa credit for.

Unfortunately Rafa is in the position where people think that since we are still finishing 4th , that we are going nowhere. The premiership has become utterly dominant, to the point where the euros are getting worried about it becoming a monopoly... it is managers like Rafa that have made english football as great as it is now. Looking back to say, 10 years ago... you'd have been more afraid of meeting the likes of juve in the CL than you would any english side right? and that went for other continental teams but now to be quite honest, I think we'd beat any other team in europe before we'd beat one of the other 3.

The fact that we are now one of the most feared teams in all of europe tells me to f***ing smile.

if Rafa gets Barry, Keane and Dossena then he's basically got what i believe to be his first choice players for those positions - so i'm happy for that.. the kids coming through are looking quite good - another reason to be happy.. the fact that the season kicks off in a weeks time makes me happy..

BUT hanging over any joy i feel is a big fkin black American cloud that scares me s***less.. i want those c**** gone.. once they are then i'll be really happy..

I don't look at our main rivals and think, how can we compete. Player for player I think we are as strong as United, they have Ronaldo, we have Torres, they have Rooney, we have Keane, they have Tevez we have Gerrard. I think that we now, for the first time, have game breakers in equal measure to the opponents. I do worry that we don't have the same depth of squad but we are as close as we have ever been. What needs to happen this season is that we need to attack more, put teams under pressure more, we may concede a few more goals but by being more aggressive we should turn more of those draws into wins.

Happy with the team and with Rafa and his staff, but I can't really enjoy myself before those american muppets have left the club. As long as they are here, we stand the chance of becoming another Leeds Utd. and it scares the h*ll out of me just thinking about it.

I know, not wanting to divert this thread but I can't understand anyone who thinks this. We have owners who are skint, the club is heavily in debt so what do they do. They don't spend any money. Leeds just spent and spent and spent and got themselves into an untenable position. We are just unable to spend without sellign which fiscally, if you are skint, makes sense.

The lies etc is a different kettle of ball games but these guys are too savvy and have too much at stake to do a Leeds. They wont get their $1bn payoff if they run the club into the ground will they !!

We wouldn't be the first business that Hicks has run into the ground. His business history isn't all about 'savvy'.

We are pretty close now. We can not raise the fun ds for the Barry deal.

and thats what will stop us becoming another Leeds. they just borrowed the money. I dont know whether or not you've noticed, but there havent been too many clubs throwing the money about this summer. why is that do you reckon?

I amy be wrong, but I thought there accounts showed that Abramovich was loaning the money not giving it?

Maybe. Abramovich is not a bank tho.

Heres hoping that he decides to call in all the loans some day soon...

its still loans though, and should something happen, he may call them in.

See Brookes Mileson and the club that was Gretna to see what can happen

Leeds didn't even own their own stadium did they?

I thought they rented it off the council... Could be wrong!

I don't think were going to "do a Leeds", too much history, saleability, and potential earnings (with new stadium etc.)

Think you'll find the plan to load us with debt will b.e the one used before by our owners. Like now, we can not raise enough money to buy the players the manager wants, why is that you reckon

dont want to cover old ground again, but since G&H have taken over, we have spent more than every other club in the league. if you want an Ambramovich type owner then fine, just say thats what you want.

If we get Barry (and Holland and Argentina get knocked out early from Olympics) really looking forward to this season. Let the real directors worry about club finances I am really looking forward to the football this season. Match winners all over the park, Agger back and I hope big improvement from Babel in his second season.

Believe our squad as good as the manx and chelsea and much better than Arsenals. Much to be positive about this season. My main hope is Rafa lets them off the leash more often this season and then the sky's the limit

I am really happy with what Rafa is doing especially the youngsters coming through. Think Rafa has a vision and its almost there. I am not happy with the owners and will be happy if they go as I dont see them being the best for Liverpool I certainly dont see them getting the new ground built.
