bloody hell, we made that a lot harder than it needed to be. maybe its just post champions league syndrome, but our passing was horrific at times. one thing that stood out today was just how bad our fullbacks are. Arbeloa and Aurelio should be nowhere near that first team on a regular basis, neither are remotely good enough, Arbeloa spent the day getting bullied and giving the ball away, and Aurelio wasn't a big pile better.

But how great was it to see Mascherano score though, what a hit, and what a performance. stood out so much today it was embarrassing for the rest of the players. what a player he is, and Skrtel looks quality too. Ref had a shocker too, got so many basic decisions wrong, and just wouldnt let the game flow.

Is this hte same Arbeloa that has had Messi and Ronaldo, the two best wingers in the last... long time, in his pocket?

The same Aurelio that ripped Arsenal (the best team in the history of sport in the know universe EVeR) a new one before his injury and made loads of great challenges in the second half?

I actually agree that we need some new fullbacks, at least one, but I think hammering them for a few mistakes today is harsh. Riise and Finnan need to be replaced, Finnan because of his age and Riise... well, we know why he needs to be replaced.

Rafinha and Lahm please, but only after we've got two wingers and moved babel up front... Danke.

Aurelio can go forward but he's too slow to be a major success in England. Skilful, but slow. Defensively he's alright.

We do need 2 top quality full backs

Still not convinced long term about either of them but given his price, Arbeloa has done very well and definitley has a place in the squad. Fabio too has done well recently. Has to be Carra, Skrtel, Sami and Aurelio against the mancs though.

Playing a league game after playing at the San Siro midweek is definitley a tough experience whoever the opposition and I'm just glad we got the 3 points. We're still playing quite well, looking solid and scoring goals so the points were a must

Aye, I think we can get better fullbacks. The big plus over the lst few weeks (apart from the bleedin' obvious) has been how well Skrtel has settled in, a big, strong, no nonsense centre back.

I'm sure I saw him in a 'Ross Kemp on gangs' documentary :hmm:

The thing for me is that two realistically priced new fullbacks, Sagna price up to £10M each, will make a world of difference to our attacking play whereas two £10M wingers/strikers probably won't.

Referee was abysmal

The number of late fouls they got away with was extrodinary

According to S/Sports report... Liverpool committed 7 fouls and Reading 23. In all games played yesterday Reading were top of the list for the amount of fouls committed. If that t*** of a ref had stamped his authority from the start on the fouls Reading committed and not been so weak and inept, the game would have flowed better. I got to the point where I wanted to shove his whistle up his árse!

Not to mention a blatant handball from Bikey which he missed. Or did he????
