Thought it was interesting sat when rafa bought on hyypia and played him as part of a back 3 with Skrtel and carra..

 

Could this be something that Rafa is considering against inter??......we know how brilliant he is tactically and how in europe he tends to pick formations dependent on the opposition..especially away.

 

Or with the game no doubt being watched by inter...could he be bluffing and maybe sending a possibility to inter, now with them not knowing what to expect......

Gerrard to be pushed wide right drifting into the middle with Lucas and the Monster Masch.

 

Got a strange feeling that Crouchinho might get a start tomorrow as well to push them back and without Cordoba and that diving exf***ing bitter... anyone know if Chivu or Crespo playing tomorrow?

I think we will see Crouchy tonight too. He is good with his back to goal which will also give Torres something to feed off when counter atacking through the middle.

Yep, one up front against Wigan at home was the work of genius.

 

I hope we don't go three at the back though, our lack of pace will be somewhat exposed on the counter attack. Stick with 4-3-3/4-5-1, don't sit too deep too early and we'll be fine.

15 Goals scored, 3 conceeded and that included a tie against the run away leaders of Serie A.

 

The Wigan game was during a bad spell where players, manager and club alike were all on a downer, yet 6 weeks later with very few changes we put in the performances we have been seeing recently. Even the best tactical decisions need the players playing well to carry them out. Against Wigan we were s**** but we have seen the difference over the last couple of weeks with the return of the teams confidence.
