Bootle Buck Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I can't remember a more frustrating player for Liverpool than Harry Kewell. He came with such expectation and seemed like he could be one of our best buys ever for the price . Instead 4 years later we have a player ravaged by injury and a shell of his former self who is also one of the highest wage earners at the club. It is painful to watch him attempting to go past people anymore. He looks like a pensioner with absolutely no confidence whatsoever. Over the years he has gone out of his way to get fit for big games like the CL Final, FA Cup Final and the World Cup but has failed to make any impression. It's time for the lad to move on as right now he is 50k per week that could be better spent.
sutty Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 His early sub appearances this season were encouraging but he's been s**** again for a while. The jogging aussie t***.
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 He'll be gone in the summer thank f*** been useless when he's played this season.
yellow jumper Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 there was one touch from a reina kick that was sublime and his passing's generally pretty good. he's not a winger anymore. in fact at the moment it's hard to know where you could play him with any effect.
Rimbeux Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Always hoped he'd come back as he was, but I was wrong. Either lost is physically or lost the confidence to push the limits a top players needs to. He might do something in the CL, but he's looking a passenger in the prem
Guest Snorky Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 He's been stealing £60k a week since the day he f***in signed.
alias75 Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 His legs have gone to play at the top level on the wing, he could maybe do a Barnes and play as a midfielder with others around him doing his running but not for us. Should be 3rd choice behind Babel and Riise for the left midfield spot at the moment.
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 He's been stealing £60k a week since the day he f***in signed. He wasnt bad in his 1st season - especially the 1st half of that season, he chipped in with goals at least.
FakeNewsBear Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 he's on 70k a week after appearance fee and even more for assists and goals
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 he's on 70k a week after appearance fee and even more for assists and goals So thats 70k he's on so in total, ya?
Boca Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Tony Barrett got stuck into him and most of the team in his match report today. The sight of Harry Kewell avoiding tackles and continuously failing to beat his man is almost as shocking as the fact that he actually gets picked at all. Not that his fall from grace seems to bother the Australian if the sight of him laughing and joking in the bowels of Upton Park just minutes after such a sickening defeat is anything to go by. Kewell is far from being alone, though. Apart from the usual suspects there are too many who wear the Liver Bird upon their chest as if it's little more than a flag of convenience. Echo

Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Has Tony Barrett taken over from Bascombe?

Knoxy Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 He always hoodwinks me with a few decent performances that he can get back to a top class player He's looked finished of late. Play Babel, at least there's a chance of him becoming a future top draw player for us, Kewell's days are gone
eth Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 He's been stealing £60k a week since the day he f***in signed.Doesn't our insurance cover the wages of injured players?
Guest RedLegend Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Kewell has long been past it. Let's get real here. You can't have a run of injuries like he's had and expect to come back the player you were in your early 20's.
Bootle Buck Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Sell him to marine, He would go on a free and then he and his agent would drain Marine's annual budget in a week.
Ginu Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 He's been the best player we've had on the left wing this season. He deserves some leeway for one match. We have far bigger problems than Harry Kewell.

We have far bigger problems than Harry Kewell. I dont agree, he had a couple of bright games when he came back but has just not looked, strong, sharp, confident or quick enough to make any impression. It's a big issue because we are set up to rely on the wide players for most of the creativity and the front four players being selected, and the group that make that up, are seriously under-performing right now and are probably not up to the task.
Guest Kaizer Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 He is finished, get rid, get Quaresma in the summer.
