I just finished reading that - excellent book, which I recommend.

Like the bit where he realized the reason his BMW wasn't very good was because he'd been putting it into 3rd gear instead of 1st.

Anyone else find themselves itching to get a drink (alcoholic) while reading it?

A lot in there about Ron Atkinson's Man U teams. I thought it was significant that the wage structure was, apparently, a mess and players of comparable seriority/ability were on wildly different wages and bonuses. By all accounts, Liverpool under Paisley, Fagan, etc. was run was extremely well in this respect - it was typically reported that the management anticipated players' wage demands as the got better and more experienced and called them in for discussions before the matter ever became an issue. I think these factors about wages and bonuses are a lot more significant to how football teams perform than is typically assumed.

He could rerad it too - which is more than Rooney could - he does like the pictures though.

Why would I want to read Rooney's book? Or indeed ANY book by a player whose career isn't even half way through?

You may be interested to know that I once read Alex Ferguson's book.

'first' as in 'most importantly' not 'in chronological order'

No one gives a f*ck about what he did at Man United except as a source of insight into what a sh*t-smeared nest of vermin that club is.

he does..seeing as he spent 7 years there..id advise you to read it again and pay more attention this time.

squealing like a stuck pig just because you read a UTD players autobiography.

I played complete attention to the whole book. He is a Villa player first and foremost. Man United are f*cking scum. he spent 7 years at the most detested, scum-ridden club in football - that's clear from the book. You're a f*cking tw*t who should be flayed alive.

Well technically he was a Pearse Rovers player first...but that would be silly to point out, wouldnt it.

It would be yes as Pat's was his first professional club (or semi-Pro as it was then).

i always liked McGrath.

Shame he played for those *insert John L abuse* down the East Lancs

You were quicker than him too.

Great player regardless of who he played for.

He even made Babb look class despite having dodgy knees!!!!

Babb and Cunningham(wasnt it?) both looked like players during that world cup thanks to McGrath.

A bit like Hansen and Hysen when one goes you realise the other was made of salt.

He is probably a Man Utd fan deep inside.

He is like one of those closet cases that would spout the most vile and hateful homophobic rants in public.

What's your address JohnL, so I can send you a Man Utd Treble DVD.
