Havant & Waterlooville

I can understand the Mancs getting 6,000 tickets the other season, I can understand if we play the likes of Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea etc getting 6,000 tickets for a cup game.

But for the life of me I cannot understand why Havant & Waterlooville received 6,000 tickets and then requested more ?

Were do 5,500 extra fans for a non-league club come from ?

I hope that they have been given a polite but firm 'no'.

The club should know that they have plenty of their own fans wanting to go.

Yes the request was refused.

They should have got a maximum of 3,000 tickets and even that would have been pushing it.

i think its great that 6000 fans who have never seen their team play at this stage of the FA cup, or who would never normally get the chance to come to Anfield, will be able to come up. i hope they all come up, wave their flags, sing for 90 minutes, and have a great day out.

.. & get beat.

totally agree - but it is a balancing act - it maybe the only game lots of Liverpool fans are able to get to

and the rest.

As was suggested above, maybe 1000 to support Havent and 5000 Liverpool "fans" in the away end?

Do you still cover the Anfield road Snorky, because I think the stewards may have a fun day.

it was on footy focus or something the other day that Portsmouth fans go and support H&W 'for a laugh'.. probably a bit like the way some from here were going to go support some random Scottish team?.. apparently they bump their crowds for things like FA Cup games due to Pompey's added support..

i reckon we should make this flag day - as if we were playing a European Cup semi final 2nd leg!

Aren't we obliged to give a larger number of tickets in the FA cup?

The home team is obliged to give 25% of the attendance unless segregation and crowd safety is an issue. Every away club is entitled to ask and receive 25%.

a fella I work with lives more or less next door to the H&W ground down near Portsmouth and he reckons their average gate is around 600.

Correct. On the other hand, my local non league team has had 15,000 in their ground.... :hmm:

Anyone who went to the Luton game will qualify for a ticket for this one.

If you didn't go to the Luton game you've got no particular right to expect to be able to go to this one. Same as any other cup games really.

If they sell out 6000 then good luck to them (though they certainly shouldn't get more). Not like they'll ever get the chance again.
